it is a fraud protection hotline from the charles schwab credit card, but you are better off calling to a number that is listed on their website

Caller identified themselves as Wachovia bank. Called back--put on hold for 10 minutes.

This is a fraud prevention callback # for Card Services. They monitor credit cards from several organizations for possible fraud.

I got a letter and called them back. I was put on hold and when she the lady finally answered she started by immediately asking for my credit card number without even explaining what had happened. Then came out and said "Do you use acompany.com? Then actually hung up on me. Great way of telling you someone stole your credit card number. He he. Ended up calling the number on the back of the card and definitely got treated better.

I received a call from this # saying they wanted my Visa expiration date. When I called them back all they had was my phone #. They asked too many questions! They wanted my name, VISA #, and VISA Exp. #! This is NOT a real company!! They are only trying to get your CREDIT CARD Information! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!

Legitimate call, but call your bank directly with the number on the back of your card.  My credit card was "skimmed" and used to buy McAfee and some stuff at Target.  The bank caught it before the charges cleared.

"lorraine" called from FIA Fraud department and left voicemail.  When I called back someone else answered.  Did not identify a company name, simply asked for my credit card number.  I hung up.

Somebody from FIA Fraud Department left me a message that there is a suspicious activity on my credit card and they suspended the account.  I will need to call back to resolve it.  I called back and they asked my credit card number and verification, a lot of questions.  I do not like the way their process is.  I told him he could be a con trying to get my information.  He told me I could call the 1-800 # at the back of my card to proceed if I do not feel comfortable giving information to him.  He also attached a note on my account that I will be calling the customer services.  I called this legitimate number from the back of the card, they had a note from him.  The call was forwarded to the fraud protection department.  We went over the charges, yes indeed there was an online charge that I did not made.  My number was stolen!  They did a good job spotting the fraud.

They should have a better process to identify themselves, if I am calling from home they should know it is the card holder who is calling rather than asking me a lot of questions and making me suspicious about them.

At the end it is the legitimate # (1-866-299-4016) protecting my account.

These guys are for real. I called the number on the back of my American Express and had them check on this number. It is the number to the Fraud Protection Service.

I got a call from this number and it ended up being a legitimate call from the fraud department of Bank of America. Our daughter's getting married and there was a large charge from the catering company that put up a "red flag". They froze our account until we could verify it. It's all good now.

100% fraud. Do NOT call them.  Never give them any personal data. No number serves all these banks (my letter was BoA).  Report it to your institution.
