Told me I owe money from 2009 and that they are going to file a case. I asked for the adrees of the company and was told it is in Georgia but he is not able to give me the physical address. I advised him to call me back when he is able to.

Good news.  Since they talked to you, that is first contact and now they are required by law to do the following (something tells me they won't do it which means they are criminals masquerading as a debt collector):

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

They called and I answered. They said I owed 500.00 to some mesa thing. Never heard of them and also they will not give you any info what's so ever. All they say is that there are "coastal" or "costal" and just have info on a screen and can't mail anything out. Want payment asap or you will have a court hearing.
They will not mail you anything and not give you any info at all.
Sounds like a scam to me

This number called my cell phone but didn't leave a message.  They then called my job and told one of my coworkers that they were looking for me and that a complaint was filed. I know this is not legal.

The phone numbers 866-299-6413 and 866-296-6502 have called a relative, my work phone and supervisor stating a lawsuit will be filed against me. They call themselves "coastal" and do not give any information; fax number or addresses. I stated my attorney needs something other then a phone number and they still would not provide any information. It has gone to the extent that now it is like they are harassing me so I am taking it up with an attorney on what I can do. I was told by a friend if I get a fax or address then to send a cease and desist letter but they will not provide anything. It's ridiculous and pathetic that people do this for a living and try to just take money from people. When I called back and told me to stop harassing me that they are a scam he said "I do not have to verify whether we are legit or not" really?!
