This number is just one of the many being used by Portfolio Recovery Associates.  This is an automated machine that calls and tells you that you need to call xx number regarding an outstanding debt.   This is obviously a scam.  Many people that don't have debt are getting this call.  I have received six of these calls since 8/30.

If your number is on the do not call registry. Go to www.donotcall.gov and file a complaint against this company.  Maybe if enough people do it they will stop.

Yeah, they are notorious bottom feeders who tried to rip off a family member last year for an old debt they had bought from Ford Motor Credit, knowing damn good and well the Statue of Limitations had expired on it. They prey on ignorant and unsophisticated consumers in hopes of getting these debts reaged so they can collect on them. Unfortunately for them, my family member wasn't born yesterday. He fired off a Cease Communications letter and hasn't heard from them since.

called and asked for wife under former name or husband - placed on hold - after answered asked for her or spouse again, gave my name and not talk to me so said ok and hung up.

Same old 866 area code with all kinds of 4 digit numbers calls have been getting "return this call" and then a different phone number on answering machine.They NEVER mention a name who they are looking for.

I got  at least 3 calls a day for over 3 months last fall.  I finally answered, went through the automated system and talked to a person.  I told them I've never heard of the person they are asking for, and would not give them any information about myself.  I hadn't heard anything else from this number until today, I've gotten 2 calls and one message so far.  It prompts to press 4 if you are not the person they are looking for, but just keeps repeating  itself.  Really annoying company.

I keep getting those calls all the time. From this, and several numbers.
It is always a recorded message wanting me to call them back. They call all hours of the day... Sometimes several times a day.

I've also noticed that I can't simply hang up on them... Somehow, they're keeping my phone line open even after I hang up.

Sixteen calls thus far.  Myself and my wife have clean credit reports so there is no reason for these calls.  I have filed ten complaints with the FTC/donotcall.gov which apparently has no effect.  I will next go the legal route with the cease and desist letter.  After I let them call a few dozen more times.  I love caller ID.

I am averaging 7 - 8 calls a day from them. I do not answer and they all say unavailable caller. After reading other posts I will answer and than send a legal stop calling letter as this may work to stop them.
