wells fargo "home preservation" team. not sure what that means.

Very legitimate people. They will offer a great deal of help.

Wells Fargo Home Preservation Team. If you're having trouble making payments on your mortgage they call to offer solutions. It's a legitimate call. I let voicemail answer and was told to call back on 877-898-4171, which is a Wells Fargo number.

i doubt they are legitimate since i dont own a home and they called me on my cell phone which ive had the same number for several years.
thereby i question the above two comments

I am in a Shortsale deal with Well Fargo. It was approved by them, and at the same time ,many time after the approval , I have received calls from that phone number. If they were real . why are they calling me again If they" work", for  the same institution  that already approved the shortsale?. They also are sending letters. Be carefull.!  The best solution.------ Do not answer phone you do not know.

I had a horrible experience with a home preservation specialist by the name of JASON (under the supervision of Lisa B. at extension 84125).  JASON had absolutely no compassion whatsoever!  He was rude, argumentative, most unhelpful, liked to listen to himself talk but wouldn't listen to me and/or talked over me, was condescending and totally lacked what it takes to be in a customer service  position.  Yet he told me he was being nice and helpful and said it was his job to be frank with people and it's not his problem if they don't like what he is saying.  Being frank is one thing but JASON was downright rude and insulting!  He actually told me NOT to call the home preservation department again.  WTF.  Who says that to a customer and how does some idiot like that even STAY employed?!  Someone with authority at Wells Fargo needs to talk to the home preservation department.  There are a large number of complaints online yet nothing seems to be done about it.   It's disgusting the way customers are being treated by the home preservation people.  Show some compassion and actually help people stay in their homes.

Received a call this morning asking for me.  He identified as being from Wells Fargo and that the call would be recorded. I responded that I was turning on my recording machine as well.  He informed me that I was not allowed to tape his call.  So you want to tape me but I can't tape you? I asked and he confirmed.  I said Good bye and hung up.  I have no WF credit cards nor house mortgage, just checking accounts and I am moving those as quickly as possible.  They are a terrible bank.

Just called this number back and they said there must be a loan holder with a number that is close to mine. "Dan" also told me to answer the phone and let the person know that my number is not the right number for whom they are trying to reach. I guess I will try that cause they call SEVERAL times a day!!
