- christhis is from some scam service that says you owe hundreds of $$$ for yellow page and web services....they actually ask you questions...like yes or no questions....and then you hang up. THEN the fun begins....they send you a bill and then they start calling you for their money. You have already told them no....BUT! They piece together recordings of your yes or no questions and then they say you are liable for these fraudulent charges. I have already reported them to the FTC. They call themselves ONLINE PUBLIC YELLOW PAGES. BIG FREAKING SCAM! They call you? HANG THE HELL UP!

- Michael McCormick| 1 replyI received a phone call on 3/30/12 from Ross Daylor saying that I was late on a payment for Online Public Yellow Pages. I said I had no idea what he was talking about. He said that I had received a free year listing on Online Public Yellow Pages and that for the past year we owed $599 for the listing. I said that I was aware of a free listing but never authorized a renewal. He said that was fine and that he would cancel our listing and gave me a cancellation #N5339868. He said that he would transfer me to the customer support and to authorize the invoice so that it could be cancelled. I was transferred and asked my name, address, phone number and did I understand that they were authorizing the invoice, I replied yes. Again this all occurred on 3/30/12. After that phone call we did not receive an invoice, notice of cancellation or anything. On 7/11/12 I received a Past Due invoice stating that I now owed $627.39. My wife called the number on the invoice to clear this up and spoke to Nancy, who was very rude and would not let her get in a word. Nancy explained that the bill was 110 days past due and was going to collections and hung up. My wife called back and spoke to Meagan, who basically tried to do the same, but my wife was a bit more persistent in trying to get information. Meagan insisted that Michael had given authorization and that we owed this money and it was out of her hands. She said there was a recording and my wife said, let me hear it. There was a recording of the conversation I had on 3/30/12 after I was transferred to customer support. There is no recording of the conversation with Daylor. Again, my wife tried to explain to Meagan the situation but was confronted with rudeness and threat of collections. My wife then Googled Daylor and Online Public Yellow Pages and found a very long thread about this scam. Also, when you Google the phone number 866-319-6022, you get more reports of the same situation.
That being said, it looks like this company is a scam and we will not be bullied into paying anything. I am filing complaints with the FTC and BBB.- Caller: Online Public Yellow Pages
- Dean replies to Michael McCormickI have encountered the exact same procedure. I was asked to speak to a person about getting the invoice cancelled and was told to answer only with yes or no. When I would not say only yes or no, they hung up on me and then called back within 3 minutes. This time I cooperated until they ask for my address and I said I can not answer that question with yes or no and all of the previous yes and no answers are incorrect. They hung up again but still call me, did it twice today, asking for money and saying they have a verbal contract. I asked them if they would like to speak to my attorney and they said they were not "obligated" to speak to my attorney and I told them I was not obligated to speak to them either, said BYE and hung up. Will not answer that number again.
