they called my mother and missed a call from me

I recived a call from this number today ,she said she was from some court and that I am in trouble because someone had written 6 bad checks and used me for a reference, I told her that I don't know the person and never heard of him .she said that I better think long and hard ,I told her that I didn't need to ( I don't know him ) I ask where she is from and where is the person from and she hung up ..

There is nothing you even need to think about.  First, if there were criminal charges no scummy debt collector would be calling about the.  You are never under any obligation to even talk to them, let alone tell them where to find the person they are looking for.  Legally they cannot call you again, but I am sure they will.
