Received a call from this number stating that I would be served with Court Papers for fraudulent checks.  I don't write checks - other to pay my rent and all those checks have cleared by account. They also called my parents stating they believe they are relatives of mine and explained the situation to them on their answering machine as well.  Is that legal???? I have no idea what this is in reference to.  I have not received anything in the mail from them either. Tried calling back but just received a voice mail.

I also received the same call, stating the same thing about bad checks.  I also do not write out checks.  He was very rude.

What did he say?  They have not called me back yet.  Are they trying to get money from you for something else?  I just want something in writing telling me what this is for.

I received a call today also, very rude.  He said there was a claim that I was being taken to court.  He will be serving me at work or my home in the next couple of days, but the client did leave the option to contact them and settle outside court.   He also called my moms phone and left a nasty message, she ended up calling me crying.  He mention that I wrote two bad checks.  When I call the number no one in customer service picks up the phone.

They just called my parents house saying that they need to serve me with court papers.  Who are these people?  I have no reason to be served any court papers.  Please let me know what you find out.  Thanks.

This is supposed to be a collection agency/law firm who called me also regarding a debt from 2008.  I contacted the orginal creditor for whom they claimed to be collecting and learned the company was out of business.  Further investigation has told me that the Better Business Bureau has received numerous complaints against the parent company of the original creditor, PDL Ventures.  PDL Ventures operates a number of payday loan companies; therefore, if you've ever had a pay day loan this may be how they received your information.

The gentleman I spoke with was Courtey Miles and he was very rude as well, despite my efforts to let him know I knew my rights and that they were in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  I requested a letter of validation and was emailed a word document that was not on the company's letterhead.  I have tried to find information about Allstate Processing Recovery, LLC and not find anything.  When I call the company at 866-338-3205, I keep getting transferred to the orginal caller.  I was able to speak with a manager today who said they would email the letter I requested, but she would not give her name.

Upon my questions of the validity of this matter, I was told by both parties I could just fight this in court.
