Say I have done illegal avtivity and want to serve papers to me   don't know what

Called and said that they were going to contact other people to find me!

This number left a vm asking for the location of a person and that the law states they can contact other people to find the person they're looking for. Scammy scam scam scum.

A voice mail is not a legal notice in this case.  (Or most cases.)   Ignore, and don't answer if any unknown numbers pop up in your caller ID.

If they left a company name, could you please post it back here?  It helps other people who are getting calls, and it helps some the the folks on this site who track scammers as they move and change spoofed number.   Thanks!

automated call seeking info for a person with the same last name as mine and their whereabouts and left message on my voicemail with a callback number...will not be calling back...sounds suspiciously like an automated call I got a few months back supposedly from a jail... I don't know any jailbirds and if I did I wouldn't accept the charges anyway

if answered and they said something recovery? And it's says we can contact your references to find you address? I'll guess they are a hardcore collector for something idk

This is a very aggressive collection agency. Impossible to convince them they have the wrong number.

Left VM said they was looking for (just my first name) and they would contact all references to find my address and where abouts.    I called the number back and was answered as FMR and then hung up quickly

I just recently called the number and it said they are with a collection agency called Fmr.

Debt collector, recorded voice message saying who trying contact and they say law permits them to contact who ever theu need to to locate this person.. IS A SCAM

Called me early today saying I owe for a payday loan is I have never taken out. Had all my info. Told them they were scamers and not to call anymore, butnow they are calling my family members. Will report them "Fmr" to FCC's  ID THEFT HOTLINE.

Got a call from this number asking for my boyfriend then I asked what it was about they asked for his social and said no and hung up scam don't fall for it

Yeah, so just got a call 2 days ago from that number. They actually called my parents house where I haven't lived in so many years and left a msg and then called my younger sisters phone and left the same msg "this message is regarding our location and tracing efforts for "automated voice says my name" it is important that we speak with you in regards to their whereabouts. If we cannot verify this information thru you the law allows us to contact all references on file. Dial 0 now to speak with a representative or call 866 341 2672. If you are unable to provide any information please contact us regardless. Again at 866 341 2672. Thank you."  So yeah, I'm pretty sure I won't be calling them back and I told my family to not answer to that number and if they did answer to just play dumb and say they don't know anyone by my name.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contain “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Left a message looking for ex son in law. Said they had the right to call all contacts or something to that effect. Said to call back regardless of if I know whereabouts of said person. Crazy me I did call and told them I have no contact from said person and take me off call list immediately.
