Just received a call from this number, said i was a loyal member with direct tv and wants to know why I cancelled. Told them it's all in the notes, I cancelled after moving and not being given the deal I was TOLD I would receive once moved into new place. I told her I was also going to be cancelling my husbands account in the next few days. All she said was ok and hung up. This is what made me question if this is directv or not. Why wouldn't they have offered me some deal or offered condolences? I truly think this is a SCAM. Blocked their number.

3 calls from DirecTV in the past two days all from different numbers--offering premium channels etc...but not a discount on regular programming. I blocked all incoming calls from the 7 numbers I've received.  Very annoying.  If I want to play with my account, I'll call them.

Called but did not leave a message. From reading other posts on here, it is "Directv". Don't believe this for a second. A few years back, I answered one of these calls and told them I did not want the "free" channels. A few months later, my Directv bill was showing a charge for the added channels. I called Directv and they told me that they will NEVER call a customer to sell more channels. Apparently, there are 3rd party companies that try to sell these packages and then somehow add them to your Directv account.

It is Directvs promotional department trying to get you to add HBO/Cinemax at a reduced rate for a period of time and then the cost doubles.

just got a call from this number according to what I have read here it is some sort of either scammer or second or third party telemarketer either way it comes down to it being a scam, so I will just say what I say about all scammers:

the computer controls the calling, so if you want them to stop, this is going to take a L O N G TIME, but it works, I had gotten the callers to reduce calling me so much, had ben getting five or more a day, got it down to 1 or 2 a week, sometimes less, I am getting calls again, because I picked up a call thinking it was a call from the nursing home I was transferring my relative to, but it wasn't, it was just a hang up, that is the computer checking that the number is valid, if you answer, the computer says that it is valid and passes it on to the scammers, so this is what you need to do, turn off your voice mail and answering machines and if you do not recognize the number or the name do not answer the call, this will take a  L O N G  time, maybe a year or more, but you should start to see some results in the first 6 months, then just keep it up and eventually you will find the silence oddly strange, not hearing the phone ring off the hook, please pass this on to others and maybe we can get the scammers the message to go and jump in to a vat of acid.

they sometimes pass themselves off as a charity, so if you want to donate to a charity YOU call them

They left a message...of them ordering extra-crunchy chicken.  LOL!  Seriously!

I recieved the number as +11 866 343 6666 in which I looked up and recieved multiple origins. I called the number back just removing the +11 and its Driect Tv trying to sell me a 3 month HD channel for free for 3 months then I'm sure it's more money after that. I am a direct tv customer and it's just a computer calling so no message is left.  Not scam just telemarketers.

Don’t accept it. They almost got me that way. It will s not free. They will raise your rates

DON'T fall for this number if they say they are from DirecTv they are NOT and you will have charges on your bill you didn't ask for and it will be a BIG headache trying to get it off your bill! I was told by an associate with AT&T/DirecTv that if someone calls you from AT&T/DireCTv the last four numbers in the phone number showing on your caller ID should be either 2020 or 5000 any other ending numbers you should not answer and possibly block.

when they called me they didn't specify the channels only the channel numbers. So it dawned on me to check my channel lineup. They were offering me channels that I already pay for

The gentleman who called tried to act professional & tried to take control immediately by rushing his conversation into saying he was calling on behalf of Direct Tv stating he was calling about our Bill so I cut him off by laughing loudly and said too bad dude I know this is a scam call because the caller id didn't show up Direct Tv's Phone number, I know their numbers by heart and I don't have direct tv scammer and I hung up on him.

Direct TV offering a deal on new channels 5XX-6XX free for 90 days then 5.99 a month thereafter.  I declined the offer and they telemarketeer tried some productive selling that ended in my hanging up.  You could tell it was a call center with all the clamor in the background.

Received the call and no one left a message.  Caller ID showed "not provided".  You would think that IF AT&T is legitimately calling, then caller ID should show AT&T? Unless, AT&T is doing something illegal?  I mean, really come on AT&T...don't be scared.!  Otherwise, who is going to answer a call from "not provided" and when no message is left not block the number. Thus, the nefarious people are probably not AT&T.
