I received a letter telling me I won an award for two round trip air line ticket from "US Air Promotions" in plain text. No return address. This is an attempt to get me to contact them and possibly give information such as social number, checking account umbers, and so on. This is a scam! Do not give any info!

Also received the same letter from US Air Promotions.  Envelope did not have a return address.  Perhaps different than the others, there was some type of small card that looked to be a SIM card; had the AT&T logo on it.  Wasn't planning on calling.

Just got the same letter! Hand addressed like Steve's.. So I opened it. As I have flown U. S. Air this year I wondered what it was about but looked up number before calling. So glad I did! No call will be made after seeing that they are telemarketers.

I received the same letter and figured some kind of telemarketer scheme. It sure is, glad I didn't call the number!

Same letter.  Hand addressed.  No return address.  Postmarked from Phoenix.  US Air changed their name to US Airways in 1996.  Whatever the promotion, it requires a lot smoke and mirrors to get people to call.  The more direct, "overpriced this" and "poor value that" doesn't result in a lot of sales.

I received the same hand addressed letter but mine was from Sue Dali. (I figured it's an attempt to harvest my phone number so they can then add it to a list and resell it. I cancelled my land line so all the telemarketers have no other way to get to me.) I'm also glad I checked here because I also recently flew US Airways and thought maybe it was from them. The. I saw it was from a VP and knew it was junk cause no legit VP would have time for this crapk My letter has a code on the bottom that says XS-24540.

Ugh - I HATE telemarketers and junk mailers!! Leave me alone!!

I got the same letter today.  It was actually addressed to my mother, but came to my address.  Mine also came from Sue Dali.  The code at the bottom said XS-23145.

My husband received the same letter, but it was addressed to his nickname and signed by Sue Dali, Vice President of US Air Promotions.  Hand-addressed envelope, not return address.  "Please call me today."  There is a number at the bottom center of the page XS-22563.

It is definitely a SCAM of some kind.

Gives a deadline for responding -- just 2 days after the letter was received.  Promises "2 tickets valid for travel anywhere in the continental US from any majore international airport.  The retail value of this award is up to $1350.00.  Certain restrictions apply."

I'll pitch the letter in the trash and not call, but would really like to know how they got my husband's name and address!

I also received the same letter.  post mark Phx,  46 cent stamp with a must respond by March 20th in first line.  My guess is they will send more letters "winners" out after that.  Hope they get caught.

I got a call from 866-349-8595 on February 7, 2010 at 1:23 pm.  The caller did not leave a message even though my answering machine was on.  My caller ID said, "Toll Free Call."

Why would any legitimate caller use 'toll free call' rather than their corporate name?

If they call again I'll block this number.

Have a good day everyone and don't answer the phone.
