SCAM CALL. Robo-Call from group asking for donations to police fund. Checked with the Sheriff. They say it's a scam.

I got a call from the same number -- but it was for the breast cancer and women's health initiative political action committee.  The operator clearly stated it's not a charity.

The operator asked if her PAC could count on a small contribution if the PAC sent us a return envelope.  I asked if literature about the PAC would accompany the envelope; she said yes.

I then told her a local (and legit) breast cancer organization would want to take a look at it (she seemed to like that idea) along with the Better Business Bureau (after a noticeable four-second pause, she said "yes").

But here's the kicker.  I told her she can send that return envelope, literature, and any other related items to my work -- since she, a rep from the aforementioned police fun, and a rep from an ovarian cancer PAC have been calling my work.  And I just happen to work at (insert incidental music here) a local television station.

After another awkward pause, she said, "I'll put you on our DNC list.  Goodbye."
