- DP| 2 repliesI received a crank call from 866-366-4357on 8/23/11, claiming to be the power company. Person went on to say that work needed to be done at my residence. When asked who was speaking, person laughed and could hear laughter of others in background laughing. Then line hung-up.

- MVI just got a call from someone that did not give me a name and asked me to verify the payments I made in order to prevent power cut off from VA Power. Their number is listed in VA power but he never said what to do in order to help me. Since my battery phone was dying I told him I will call back the company and he said how about another number so I can give the instructions of your refund, he said. Anyway I will call the company and I will let you know what happened.
- MM| 2 repliesMy grandmother has been getting calls all day from the 866-366-4357 and this dumbass really thinks he's gonna get $500 from us by threatening us to cut the power. I finally got home and answered the phone and told him to just go ahead and cut the power off because we don't have the money right now (technically all paid up anyway) He then threatens that he's outside my house and he can see it, but dumbass also thinks that we don't own a smart phone or computer because I can see my house too. But anyway DO NOT GO TO WAL-MART OR ANY OTHER STORE TO SEND MONEY, HE WILL NOT SUPPLY A CALL BACK NUMBER BECAUSE HE IS A DISGRACE AND SHOULD BE PURGED FROM THE EARTH AS A HUMAN FOR TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE.
P.S. I WILL FIND YOU AND BEAT THE LIVING HELL OUT OF YOU FOR MESSING WITH MY FAMILY!! ARMED UP, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!- Caller: NOT Dominion Virginia Power
- Elspeth replies to MMI would let your power company know that someone is trying to scam people using their info.
- Sandee114My husband got a phone call saying that we were behind on our electric bill and to give them payment info and his last 4 of his SS# (a robo call) we don't even have this energy company so we know this was a scam.
- Caller: Dominion Power Company
- SonyaGot a message saying that "the account associated with this number" is overdue and about to go to collections. They did not seem to even know my name. No one in my family has ever lived in VA so I think this must be some sort of scam.

- ip| 1 replywe received a call from this number today. no message. we did not recognize the number and did not answer, because we just had another one of those robo calls from a rude unknown right before this call. BUT this number is really VA Dominion Power. I called back and they looked up our account which is up to date and they could not figure out why someone would have called us. they said they did not have any work planned in our area or any other reason to have called. This number is on the internet listed under VA Dominion Power and also I had called this number months before when I had addt'l info about why the power had gone out. So this IS a legit number for VA Dom Power. I wonder if someone is spoofing their number?
- PattiI too received a call from this number, however,I did not answer the phone.
- GCalled, no message. owe them 1 month so it may be legit
- BuggedThis number is listed on Dominion Power's site to call with problems, but the person calling us from this number is a criminal trying to steal $$$. I just stayed at a hotel chain franchise, and this one was run by an India family, and I've been receiving these calls immediately after from all over.
- Call type: Debt collector
- DDDThis 866-366-4357 called me and told me that I have an unbalance of exact amount of 450.72 and I asked him who he was. He told me that he was dominion power service and stating that I owe them money (which I know I don't) So I kept playing this game, I asked him how would you like me to give you money if you are going to cut my power off in an hour? He told me to wire the money to him asap from Walmart or Riteaid etc that transfer money without any trace. Then I asked him why should I pay you for what reason? And.....................................
He just said it's not his responsibility to answer that and is willing to send me over to the service. .... what? you are the service department and you can't answer my question? Then he goes and gives me this other number to call then he told me to hurry up and he hung up. who the [***] hangs up if they need money? I'm sorry people who need money don't just hang up in the middle of the conversation and they should be able to answer more question.
Guys be careful, especially if they are asking for personal info without them having any info to start with. Do you get it? - WJPThey left a message on my voice mail stating 'This is Dominion Virginia Power, the account associated with this phone number is delinquent and being turned over to collections.' However I live in RI and have National Grid. So either they dialed the wrong number or it's just another scam.

- ppppThis is a scam. They called my neighbor and wanted her to send him money via a prepaid money card.
- Diane866-366-4357 they claim to be Virginia Dominion Power they want to collect my unpaid balance, I don't have an unpaid balance. So they also left the name of Bill Matrix call him to pay 800 573 1147
- QVI also received a call this morning from someone pretending to be Dominion Virginia...they also used the 866-366-4357 Dominion Virginia Power. They also threatened me with cutting my power in three hours. They requested I provide the amounts and dates of the last three payments, which I unfortunately provided. I became suspicious and I was then passed to a "manager". Names used were David Avila and Luis Pena.

- Business ownerCaller claimed to be from BC Hydro, and that my business's power would be cut off in 45 minutes if I didn't pay a made-up bill by then.
Too bad the address and account info he had was from an already-closed account (3 months ago, at that).
Asked him whether his parents were proud of him and his activities.
Got told that I should suck his lower appendage. Charming.- Caller: "BC Hydro"

- SpudsGot a call from this number, didn't answer it. I'm a Dominion customer but my account is in good standing, they have no reason to call me and I'm signed up to get all bills and alerts by email. They don't even call me when my bill is overdue. Probably a scam.
- AnonymousGot a call on my cell from this #. I didn't answer and they did not leave a message. Found this site through a Google search of the phone#. Glad I did. I am a Dominion customer, but I find it curious they did not leave a message if it were a legitimate call. I think it's a good bet that a scammer is spoofing Dominion's number for nefarious purposes. Beware!
