Dead air call.  This is another war dialer from a telemarket company.  The actual number has been spoofed from a service for the deaf or hard of hearing.

I recieve a call from this number everyday and when I answer, there is nobody there. When I call the number back all I get is a busy signal. I did some online research and found out that this place is for the deaf and hearing impaired in Michigan and this seems to be the only munber for them. I wish they could hear me saying quit calling my number.

My roommate gets calls from this number all the time. When she answers, there is nothing on the other end and then the line goes dead. Strange

I also researched this number. They have called several times an evening for the past couple of weeks. I got the Deaf school in Michigan (like someone in an earlier post)when I looked up the reverse number on google.  I've tried calling the number back and it went through one time to some office at the University of Utah. Tonight they called and I answered. It was a man with a thick accent that wanted to speak to me. They knew my name. He said there was some visa/ mastercard small business offer. I told him to take my number off their call list. I wish I hadn't confirmed he was speaking to the person he asked for. Could that become a problem?  Does this deaf school know that someone else is using their number? Is there a process we should take?

Calls several times a day for the past week-2 weeks. I researched "reverse phone numbers" online and is said it is a Deaf school number in Michigan. I have tried calling the number back 3 times and on the first call back I got the Voice mail to an office on the University of Utah.  This evening (8-14-08) I answered the call for the first time and got a man with a thick accent that asked for me by name. When I asked what it was regarding and why I keep getting calls, he asked if he was speaking with "my name". Unfortunately, I confirmed that was me. He said that he was calling with a Visa/Mastercard small business offer. I told him I wasn't interested and to take me off their call list and he thanked me.

get a call from this number multiple times a day - typically at night - haven't answered yet, wont leave a message. when I call back, it says this number is not in service.

I get a call from this number everyday, my goodness! I answered once or twice but no one answered. When they rang again and I recognized the number so I just ignore it.

It annoys me to no extent constantly on a daily basis while I am at work.

I receive a call from this number every day.  My number is listed on the Do Not Call Registry, but that doesn't seem to be helping with this number.  Annoying

08-27-08 I've been called twice recently by this number and am getting no response when answering.  Upon callback a machine operated voice informs me the number is no longer in service.  After reading the other feedback from others harassed by whoever keeps calling, I have decided to conduct a full investigation.  I suspect criminal activity.  I will post my investigation results when I find out more.  I am the Security Specialist for a multi-million dollar corporation that has supporting agencies such as the Secret Service and the FBI.  If I cant shut this nonsense down.  They will.  End of story.

I get a call every now then maybe 2-3 times a day past several weeks, its annoying. when i answer the call is imediatly ended. I call back and it says the n number doesnt exist

Have been called several times a day for the past 2 weeks, calls come at all hours of the day and night. When I answer there is no one there and when I call back I get a recording that the number is out of service. My phone service says that the number cant be blocked because it is registered as a charity or as a company that gets donations for a charity. (Deaf school???)

I contacted the Deaf School and below is their response;

I am responding to your e-mail regarding multiple phone calls made from phone number 866-384-4414.  Please accept out apology for the disturbance, but this is a phone number that is no longer in service.  We have contacted the phone carrier regarding the complaints we have been receiving regarding this.  We have been advised that someone (unknown) is “spoofing”.  They have procured software that inserts the above referenced number on your caller ID screen.  This is currently not an illegal activity, although there is legislature on the floor that will make it so.  We would like to ask that you contact your phone carrier and request a trace.

I am contacting my carrier again and sending them the info to see if they can trace the call or at least block it.

That's exactly what happens to me, but it's just once or twice a day on my cell phone - never my landline.  And of course, the phone starts ringing at the worst possible time - ANNOYING!!

I have received three phone calls from this number today and just now again at 10:00 p.m.  When I called the number back it said there was no extension and to leave a voice mail.

Phone rings once then hangs up, "Customer Service" when I call back, ANNOYING and seemingly criminal.

Calls have been made to my phone incessantly for the last few weeks, but no messages have been left.

i have been getting 2-3 calls a day for the past week or more always in the evenings. they need to knock it off.
