- Detective Smartypants McwebsurferI am from Orlando Florida. I received a phone call on December 12th or 13th (2008) from a secretary looking for my wife who said she had entered a contest for a Lincoln Navigator and won a prize but could not say what it was, to find out she would need to contact Mr Russell and gave me the number 866-400-8561 or (866)400-8561. Like others there was only a voice mail. The message was as follows:
“Hi this is Bill Russell, prize director, I’m currently away from my desk ,If your calling in regards to your prize please leave me your name and direct number because this is a time sensitive matter. I will be returning on Tuesday the 16th at 11am. Please leave your name and number where you can be reached between the hours of 11am -12pm and I will return your call back as soon as possible, I look forward to speaking with you and congratulations!”
So I did a Google search using the name Bill Russell and Prize and found another thread on this same website (800notes.com) the other number being reported was 866-534-6599 (look it up on the search box on the right side of this page) where other people have been reporting almost exactly the same story as us on this thread but it has been going on since August of 2008 (or earlier) there is allot more information on that phone number. It seems they change the phone numbers involved so new suckers that want to look them up and research them will have a hard time. From information I collected It seems this is a timeshare pitch (or worse buyers club) where they offer you one of 4 prizes and you need to go to a certain address to claim your prize, when you get there you will probably be told you need to sit through an entire presentation that will probably last 1-4 hours depending on how long is there timeshare pitch. Typical to all timeshare presentation they want you to be married or committed couple, husband and wife must both be present with no kids or friends present. 1 of 4 prizes reported to be offered in past 1) 2008 Lincoln Navigator (or $45,000), 2) 4 Day/3 Night Cruise 3) Shopping Spree or 4) 32" TV. I have personally been to a few timeshare presentation here in Florida, they are trained to be high pressure sales pitches but you do usually get what is offered , for example I was offered tickets to Universal Studios and received them after a 2 hours of boring high pressure award pitch regarding a timeshare property, afterward I thought for the 2 hours myself and my wife we can work at our job and buy those tickets without being insulted or bored to death. Anyway if you have some free time maybe you get a cheap prize , most likely whatever the cheapest prize is that is what you will get. And this company is sneaky and offering unrealistic prizes so I would expect they might have some additional trick to the prizes also, maybe they will tell you to get the TV you have to come on another presentation or actually buy a timeshare first (ha). Anyway you just won a chance to be board at a timeshare and get some prize that is probably worth less than your time and a chance to get suckered into buying a timeshare. Congratulations to everyone that got this call. Ha. If anyone actually goes to the presentation let us know how long is it and what “prize” did you get.

- kasperI just received a message on my voice mail today saying that I won a Navigator from a sweepstakes that I entered online. Did not bother calling the number but wanted to do a search regarding the phone number they left and found this site. Thanks for the info. Glad I checked before I returned their call. The weird thing about the message is that the person who called said my home address as well as my email address. That is unsettling.
- Ms. SuckerGot the same call and information as Dectective Smartypants (see posting). Very high pressure, husband has to be present, bring drivers license and a major credit card. After the 90 minute presentation, we get a scratch off ticket for the prize. I asked if this related to a time share, and they said, no, it is just information on their travel services.

- Miss Taken I. DentityGot the above-mentioned call "Diane Foster" (from 866-965-6374) with my correct address and the wrong email - they must have guessed wrong. They said I won a Lincoln Navigator, gave the above number as a contact number and wished me a "blessed day". Come to think of it, this is the second time they've called. Maybe the third time will be a charm....NOT!
- MikeMonterey County: Received a call from a Christina Lee or Christine Ali something like that. Saying that I won a prize a Ford Explorer or three other prizes. She says I must have entered into a drawing at a store or online. Gave me a 1-866-288-2780 number. I called, got an answering machine with a guy named Bill Russell. He wanted me to leave my number and spell my first and last name and he would get back to me. I looked up his name and prize director. Apparently this scam has been going on since 2008. The caller id said it was a call from Monterey CA.
- Caller: Prize Director
- anna pavelGot the call from Mr.Russels - the prize director saying that I won 2014 Ford Explorer.
I think this is a scam. The number they called from was 855-393-4946. I think they changed the number- Caller: Mr.Russell Prize director
