I failed to identify the caller before he-she-it hung up, but I wrote it down. I KNOW it was an unwanted call and will report it to the Do Not Call List. (I'm not sure if the list really has any effect but I figure it's worth the minute or two it takes to fill out the online form.)

They call our house at least once a day at all hours. Very annoying! We are on the Do Not Call Registry, so they should NOT be calling.

I too have been getting a lot of these calls, and they never leave a message. They hang up as soon as my answering machine picks up. So I did some research...

Do any of you own stock shares in MetWest and/or TCW Group? It would appear that these calls are in relation to an upcoming proxy vote, and they're trying to get you to vote prior to November 26th. Go to this link and take a look at the phone number that's listed at the bottom.

It looks to me like these irritating (and quite persistent) calls will stop after the 26th. I sure hope so!

    Thanks for posting this info....

I called the number and talked to the proxy voting service.   It seemed legitimate.  They had my phone number attached to my neighbor's account with MetWest.  They agreed to remove my number and apologized for the call.  We'll see...

Every day. at least once, usually two or three. I let answering service answer. Never a message. Do not call list is a sham.  Not supposed to be, but the Gov't doesn't really want to interfere with "private enterprise". These callers are, after all employed, and we just can't let them lose their JOBS because we (the Gov't) stop their activity. If I filled out a do-not-call report on all the calls I get, I'd have a full-time UNPAID JOB.

It does have something to do with a Proxy vote.  I am sick of receiving these calls.
These spam calls are a lot cheaper than mailing the Proxies out

NOOOOOOOO! Im not sure what they are selling but I dont want any! Just told them I dont want to get involved so take no action. wanted a verbal authorization " just to keep everything the same".....

Amazing just how many of you idiots think you're informed when you're truly not. So many of you leave your investments to a so-called "advisor" and have no clue what they're investing in with YOUR MONEY. Then you don't "want to be bothered" with the responsibility of following up. You only care when the market dips and you lose value and then blame everyone but yourselves. As a shareholder in funds/companies you're entitled to vote on the direction of the companies that YOU OWN (or do you not understand the concept of stock ownership?). Proxy campaigns for delinquent shareholders can cost several millions dollars and guess what - that's money that could have gone into your pocket as dividends or reinvested in the company to increase your capital gains. So don't pay attention, don't vote, and throw away returns on your investments by all means, just don't complain when your return is poor. Since you're all as astute as you appear to be I'll be kind enough to enlighten you; first of all the Do Not Call Registry applies to TELEMARKETING calls, if these companies are calling you to vote on your investments it does not fall into that category but of course you probably took as much time to read what you were signing up for as you do paying attention to your own financial affairs. Second, your advisor is only just that, an advisor or manager, so here's a suggestion GET FAMILIAR WITH THE CONTENTS OF YOUR OWN PORTFOLIO. As hard as you probably work/ed to get that money you would think you could pay more than cursory attention to what those guys are doing with it. No wonder these people make billions off sheep like you, your heads are so deep into your own a#&@ you don't have a clue what's going on with your own interests...mind boggling.
