United Service Bureau of Mediation:
You will get a call from a restricted number.  The guy will tell you that he is a server that works for Process Servers of America (which he doesn't and won't give you his name).  He will then tell you that you are being served with a court summons.  He will state that you should call United Service Bureau of Mediation.  
You will call 8664161937 and supposedly a Attorney Christopher Hoxxxx will answer the phone.  He claims to have a paralegal Coleen Geoxxx that will accept the payments.  He says you are being sued.  You need to pay us to keep this out of litigation.  It sounds so believable.  I asked them for a debt validation letter and it was computer generated.  Attorney Christopher Hoxxx's name wasn't even on it.  Coleen Geoxxxx didn't even sign her name at the bottom.  Very unprofessional.  I searched for an Attorney Christopher Hoxxxx in New York and New Jersey guess what?? He doesn't exist!! I searched because they claim that there business is located in New York:  2809 Wherle Dr. Suite #3  Williamsville, NC 14221.  They have also been at 17405  Main St. Clarence, New York?? Moved about 5-6 months ago??? hmmm.  So scam written all over it.

It is a scam - no one is given a heads up that they'll be served.  Also, a debt validation letter should be mailed to you, not emailed or faxed.  Please read about the FDCPA and learn your rights as a consumer.  If you were really being sued, you'd have received MANY dunning letters long before you got this call.  Plus, if a legitimate company, why the restricted number?  It doesn't add up and just screams "scam".  Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  When they call back again, tell them that on the advice of your attorney (even if you don't have one), you are recording all calls they make to you for multiple violations of the FDCPA.
