Elite Care... probably a bill collector

They keep robocalling me. Bill collector

I A call from 866-416-6963 calling themselves "Elite Care" asking me to call another number and give a ref # that they gave me.  I googled Elite care found only medical clinic in other parts of the US NOT EVEN IN THE SAME STATE WHERE I'M AT.

I'm correcting my previous post. 866-416-6963 is legit. it's *** Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics company****. I had a medical procedure done and  the hospital gave me a sling for my hand. my insurance paid most of it to Hanger company for the sling and I was responsible for than $10 co-pay which I paid them.  

So they're NOT bill collector they are the company that actually provided the product.

Wrong... they are NOT a medical manufacturing company, they ARE a Bill Collector. They represent companies in the Medical supply field. Hanger Prosthetics is one of many customers that outsource their bill collections tasks to this company (Elite). Obviously, your account had/has a balance or there's an error on your account. But, the correct answer is "Bill Collector"..

Yeah these [***] called me and when I found out it was for some pedhose I'd been given after a procedure I said that's funny, I've yet to receive a bill and that was 8 months ago.  I asked why they were placing collection calls when I'd yet to receive a bill and they said it was a reminder call.  Well darlin, you can't remind me of something you never told me about in the first place.  Damn idiot.  

So I called the surgicenter and asked if it was legit because I don't remember getting those hose, it is, so I let them know about their collection practices.  I'm in accounts receivable and place past due calls all the time to my customers and never ONCE have I ever been so callous at to call for collection on a bill that I'd never sent or they'd never received.  They're reviewing their contract with these people and my information is going to weigh on their decision I was told.  Not sure why they can't just bill me for the pedhose when they bill me for everything else but it actually hacked me off pretty good.  

I intend to wait until I receive written notice and their phone # is going on the blocked call list until I receive that because until they provide proof of debt, I'm not paying [***], just to prove a point that they're not going to bully me into paying w/o documentation.

I too received calls from them.  Turns out I did  have a small bill ($5.13). I received a sling from an Urgent Care Center I visited in TX in May of this year while on a business trip.  I spoke with a rep who had the name of the facility and dates of service.  The address they had for me though was incorrect (must have been the hotel I was staying at) so I never received a bill.  Paid the bill over the phone with no issues and the rep was very pleasant.  Had I not read your reply David, I would have ignored the call which might have messed up my credit.
