Called twice and kept asking for my husband on a matter of business but wouldn't give me any details about it without written consent. I asked him if he was a lawyer, and he said no, but he wouldn't give me any other information, but said this was a matter of importance and was very time-sensitive and that my husband should call him as soon as possible.

This is "Delta," a collection agency hired by the US Department of Education for defaulted student loans.  You must call this number if you want to arrange repayment. If you successfully pay the agreed amount for 6 months in a row, you may be eligible to then deal directly with the US Department of Education.

John (Jack Ass) Glass called me and would not tell me what he wanted.  He told our family that he could only talk to me and that his company Delta Managment could not say.  " if Mary gives me permission then I can tell you what I am calling her about".  I called back the main number and they gave me a line of crap that they could not tell me the name of their company or what they do until I gave them my name. "If you give me your name then I can tell you what it (the call) is about, I cannot tell you what we do or about our company untill you answer with your name.".  I said that it would be stupid to give out my name over the phone, they could be scamming us, and it was improper for them to call and ask for mary without proper proticol, ie.. 'my name is this, from So in So and I need to speak with Ms. PersonsLastName about a personal matter'.  Since they never did this and refused to address me properly, they can go soil themselves!  tHANKS FOR THIS WEB SITE, NOW I KNOW WHO THESE IDIOTS ARE, LATER SCUMM BAG, HA!

Thank God for people like you.  You have wonderful instincts and used them to identify a ScumBag, your husband should be singing your praises!  My wife is also very intuitive and thanks to her, I have learned to pay attention to people who call asking for her by her first name.  Who do they think they are calling my wife by her first name, acting as if they have the Right!  Shame on them.!  Shame!  It is up to us men, as a family to remember to protect our wives from Trash who seek to disrupt our homes.  I wish that you haddn't had to deal with Delta Managemt, but you are a true warrior for your family.  Hopefully, more men will wake up to these calls at the gates of our homes and require strict proticol for incoming calls, if they don't respond properly, with respect, and don't show CALLER ID, SAY GOODBY.  Again; your family, especially your husband should be singing your praises,  Good Call (ha, ha)

Its called a rehab program....dont act like you got away with something. Thats what they want you to do cuz they dont get any credit with garnishing people. They get gredit for you going on the 9 month program...once the nine months is up they get credit for the whole amount of the loan. So both of you win...you get out of default and dont get garnished and us collector gets credit and bonus. There there to help and if you dont take it they do garnish. But they rather help cuz both people get benifits out of it.

Right you people are full of it. Here is a little story for you.

I had made arrangements with federal student loan to withdraw $150 from my paycheck every two weeks. I find this to be the most convenient way to make payments. This way there are no worries that I forget a payment and miss one etc. So after about three years I figure that the loan is gone, paid off, and settled. After 3 1/2 years I find out our branch office is closing and everyone is getting laid off. Not happy, but not much one can do about it. So I thinking well at least my student loans are all paid off now…… yay ............... Surprise!!!!!!!!!!!
Federal student loans sold my loan after the first year of me setting up payments. Now let’s just go dormant for over a year. Dormant? Yes that is correct you know dormant "Not active" because that is what these jerks did after they bought my student loan.  They bought it did not tell me that they got it waited over a year to contact me just to tell me I was in default. WTF is that.  Then they got the audacity to demand that I make some ridiculous amount of a payment to them. At first I was confused I said "That can't be my student loans are paid off."

Then they explained oh we purchased your loan at bla, bla date which was over almost two years earlier. I then exclaimed “And the reason you did not contact me when you purchased the loan?” There reply was "we mailed out a letter" I said when did you mail it and where did you mail it? Although they did supposedly mail that "letter" to the correct address I told them I did not get the letter and why did they not try contacting me again by phone or email?    Well they had no answer for that apparently after one letter No payment schedule setup, No loan verification, No other type of contact at all the appropriate procedure is wait over one year from the letter mailing date to make sure the loan is in default and start harassing phone calls multiple times a day.

I have absolutely had it if that little maneuver they preformed is not classified as some kind of fraud then it should be. Are they not supposed to contact me for loan verification and payments etc? This absurd excuse “we sent you a letter when we purchased the loan.” then total silence from them for approximately a year and a half.  Only to contact me to let me know my loan was “Now in default and the interest rate was over 28%” WTF that has to be illegal in some way shape or form.  That shady under handed way they conduct business should be considered racketeering.  For the record I’m not paying them I refuse to pay them I will fight them in court to the bitter end before I pay them one dam cent.

I’m hoping that some day some one out there will have enough of there ill mannered so called business conduct and bring a class action law suit against them.

There stupid message “We have an urgent business deal to discuss with you.” That type of misrepresentation is also against the law.

Delta Management keeps calling our place of business asking for an employee who no longer works here saying that it is regarding "private business." his name was Willie. They also sent a fax - from Joseph Farhat - 617-660-3862. The fax wanted to know all this employee's information  and said it was a federal matter.

Very Annoying. Wish. They. Would. Just. Stop!

This is not a normal telemarketer or collection call, this is for student loans.

Anyone whining or crying about these calls
1- pay your bills and the calls wont come
2- you screw everyone when you dont pay these bills. whenever you dont repay federal money, that money has to be replaced somehow. that somehow is usually in form of higher taxes. if the money is not replaced, the program is simply taken away. yes, i want to be responsible others cannot get federal loans for school -/interwebssarcasm.

I just set up a small $50.00 monthly payment with Delta, I was helped by an extremely courteous rep named Krstin who helped very well. I was honest and told them/her I am broke and there isnt much there to put towards payments. I havent worked for 3 years and havent seen more than 200$ in my pocket since my last employment.

After going through 2 or 3 options I was unable to afford, she said it would be okay for me to try again in a month or two, to just keep in contact and keep my info updated so if I was to have a change in income, I could then pay my loans off. I wanted to get thhis process started though so we worked on what I could do and arranged for me to begin payments of $50.00 monthly, a doable amount.

These people arent trying to rip you off, you owe a debt. Dont be a bum, dont be a leech on society, dont waste peoples money, man up and pay your bills. If you are unable to pay, just tell them. If you are nice and say "look, Im just dead broke", they will work with you. Thing is, most of us arent dead broke, we have cell phones and digital tv etc, we'd rather spend or money on that stuff.
So when you sit here on your computer with your home internet that runs $75 a month, and you cry like a [***] when folks call you on a bill you rightfully owe, how about you just shut the hell up instead or man up and pay your stuff.

I agree with Travis. I dealt with Kristin as well and she was VERY helpful. She put me on a $50 monthly payment to pay off my student loans.

Travis, do you happen to have Kristin's extension number btw? I lost all of her contact information =(

Asked for my date of birth, would not tell me what this was in regard to, other than "a personal business matter."  I filed a complaint with the FTC.  I then saw the multiple complaints about this company's solicitations.  I do have quite a bit of student debt, but I am always on time with my payments and am in good standing.

My mailing address is at a UPS store. An employee of the store called me to tell me that Julie at 866-441-1957 x2654 was trying to reach me. She must have looked up the number of that store and called them trying to get a phone number for me.

These people keep calling my home phone asking for my brother without saying what the call is about, and we have told them he doesn't live here.  He had already sent them updated information with his new address and phone number, but they keep calling and calling and calling.  VERY ANNOYING!  The one representative insisted that I was my brother and that I was trying to avoid payment, he didn't believe me when I insisted I was not.
