I received an e-mail with the following instruction:  "Please call 1-866-441-4731 regarding the SI SUPER WAVE OVEN you received on 11/13/12.  This is a toll free number for your convenience as this e-mail domain does not accept response e-mails.  Your file number is 11218571641."

It was sent to me because my bank refused to honor the request for payment against my debit card, thinking it was some sort of scam.  All I had to do was confirm with the bank that payment had indeed been declined and then they cleared it with the people at SI Super Wave Oven.  

End of story.

Collection past due debt in 2010. Recovery

I am not sure what you are trying to say here.  The debt was from 2010?  Doesn't really matter since in 48 states it is still legal to attempt to collect it.  They cannot threaten to sue or legally file to sue though if the Statute of Limitations has expired for that state.

They keep sending emails requesting a call back. I called them, and they wouldn't tell me a thing until I verified my name, address, etc.. I told them "let's go with the name you sent, but until you tell me who you are and why you keep sending emails, I'm not verifying anything you say. The woman tried to get indignant, but I told her to have a "cluckity-cluck-cluck" day and hung up.

I don't trust the email. ~

The problem with robocalls, is when they leave voice mail messages, you only get the last few seconds. I don't know why a bill collector would be calling me, I'm current, or paid off, on everything. But, here we are.
