- Scubadee| 1 replyI received an automated phone call on 7/23/07 from this number. It was asking for someone who previously owned my phone # over 4 yrs ago and identified themselves as Plaza Debt. They provided an 8-digit control # to reference and requested to call this phone number back with that control #. It looks like a skip tracer, one of more than a dozen that have called my phone # since late 2003 looking for this debt-skipping scumbag.

- George| 2 repliesAutomated message for Tom U-li'der-bac (or U-li'-da-bah) from Plaza Associates picked up on my answering machine. Control number 62770017 (or 62770097). Advised that by listening beyond the following three second pause implied acceptance that I am Tom Liderbac. Sorry, my answering machine is not smart enough to decide to hang up ;-) Sounds like some scumbag collection agency. Maybe people who are stupid enough to incur debts are stupid enough to respond: hey, here I am, arrest me, or I'll send money - please let me send money. Hmmm. Otherwise how would Plaza Associates stay in business? This tactic must work enough of the time to pay the bills. Incredible. What is scary is that these folks will vote for the next president and no doubt for Hillary or Obama. My bills are paid monthly. I'm republican.

- bike4lifeReceived a automated call for a Rafael Kincade about a debt with Paragon Emergency Medicine along with control number. Had to find number on this site because I could not understand accented voice when it said the web site name.
So since my answering machine was not smart enough to hang up on the 3 second pause, does this mean they are convinced that R. Kincade is at my phone number? Sigh. Who else is going to be calling now?- Caller: Plaza Associates

- Stacy| 1 replyCall was on my answering machine--totally automated. Stupid thing said "if you do not speak for three seconds, I will continue."
Of course, an answering maching won't "speak," except for the salutation.
Then computer went on to tell me that they were looking for [and gave a specific person's name] who has an outstanding bill with a Medical Facility [again stated name of facility]. Then gave a phone number for this person to call and a reference number.
ALL SORTS OF ILLEGAL activity within this collection attempt!!! The person is NOT me, and I don't have any outstanding bill with this Medical Center.
I certainly got all sorts of information on this gentleman--poor dude--and if I were devious, I could take the information and do much harm. But I'm not--I really don't give a damn, except that this is a harassing call to ME!- Call type: Debt collector
- EC replies to StacyPlaza Associates (which also operates under the name RJR Acquistion) is one of country's the sleaziest collection companies. As your example attests, they have no reservations about ignoring federal debt collection laws. Here's Bud Hibbs' advice when it comes to dealing with Plaza: http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/plaza_associates.htm
- no jokeThese people keep leaving messages when I called back it said Paragon Medical and then we I gave them there so called control number then they said my names was something different then she put my number in and said my correct number than said I owe Chase overdraft and I said I didn't owe them they then asked me for my soc number I said no.. I told her she should have my information.

- CBA call from Paragon Emergency Medicine saying that they are attempting to collect a debt was left on my machine...and like everyone elses, my machine wasn't smart enough to hang up! I called the # and the lady that answered said she was from some Plaza Agency, she said that she didn't know what the # was that I called and they didn't leave it for me to call back.

- JimGot a call from this number, 866-441-8784, on my cell phone, and I didn't pickup once I saw it's an 866 number. I used another phone to call them back, and a female asked me for control number, which my voice mail didn't pick up due to it's "3 second pause". I asked the lady who they were and she refuse to tell me.
- TintI just answered one of these automated calls at work, it came through our company phone system. The name given sounded like one of my former co-workers who I might add has not worked here in almost 4 years.

- Annoyed oneThese people are calling and leaving messages for a David Allen, who doesn't live here, and no phone number listed for him. I just don't answer the unknown phone calls anymore.
- veeGot the automated call like everyone else on my answering machine. When I called back the woman picked up with out saying the company name and didn't even bother with the control number. She want to know why I called her. Right then I got annoyed. It then seemed like she checked my caller id then said I owed almost 400 dollars from 2003 for Verizon. She couldn't give me any information other than that and couldn't wait to get me off the phone.

- MadAsHellWe have received many phone calls from this company, always asking for the same person and telling us (answer machine) that if welisten passt the 3 second delay, we are admitting to being the person they are looking for. My husband has called and told them to stop. That works for a while then they start over again. We have to let the whole message run before we can delete the message! I just called the number and told them we would turn this over to an attorney! All I got was: well we would like to speak to <name they are looking for>. I again told the woman at the company to stop calling us.
I doubt this will work any better than before! What scum!!!- Caller: Plaza Associates

- ja replies to GeorgeWhat does this have ANYTHING to do with an election....Republicans have just as much debt & don't pay their bills as much as democrats...who cares what party you follow! My bills are paid monthly too & I sure a hell didn't vote for Bush. But obviously this is the wrong site to be on if you want to discus politics.
