Scam text from 866-449-5476 saying I have un-returned equipment. I don’t have Spectrum. Text reads:
Spectrum: Your account has unreturned equipment. Call 1-(866)-449-5476 for a free pickup appt. If already returned, please disregard.

Instead of asking some stranger one a phone look up site, why don't you call Spectrum and ask them, since they would know right away.

Why not call Spectrum? Because they have NO IDEA what you're talking about when you call and ask them about this text. I got the same text today about unreturned equipment, called Spectrum and am sitting on hold for them to try to find someone who has a clue about this text.

Well, if they don't know anything about you having unreturned equipment on your account, then it is obviously not Spectrum who sent the text, meaning not legit.  :)

I received a text that contained the same 866 number. Gave it a call and it went to a department to make a payment on my past due balance. Paid the balance and had my services back on in mins.

Thank you for posting this! I DO have Soectrum and I cancelled some service not too long ago but knew I didn’t have unreturned equipment! Now I don’t have to wait on hold to verify with them. Thank you.
