Here are the steps they asked me to take on my computer, I knew it was a scam but wanted to see what they wanted.
    1.  Window button + R
    2.  ASSOC then enter
    3.  code they asked me to enter:  888DCA60-SCOA-113F-8F0M-00C045D7DO62
    4.  Window button + R
    5.  www.teamviewer. com

I never actually entered any of this info into my computer, so they got nothing from me.  I talked to 3 different people who all had Indian accents.

It is a huge scam, don't let them have control of your computer. Report to fraud watch.

I got a call from the same # giving the same script. I said I had to go to work & could not do it then. He (with accent from India) asked a good time to call back and I said 3:30 and then I asked if I could call him insotead & he (John) said "yes" & gave me above #. I got home later and at 4:00 John called. By this time I had Googled the number & contents of call & got your page & other scam warnings. I told John what I did & told him "Sorry, but I do not want to participate in your scam." He remained polite & continued trying to warn me & stated that as proof of his legitimacy he had my _____ computer licensing# (I wasn't listening anymore). Thank you for all these post.

Also got several calls from this company, said it was USBC support and they were Microsoft support. First some girl, India accent, which I totally dismissed and hung up. The next day I got a call from a James Williams, lol, his accent was not a James Williams, I could hardly understand him. He was from India my guess. He said he had my Microsoft license number which by no odds is the license shown in one of the other comments. Believe they use this same sequence of letters & numbers to trap everyone. He wanted me to go to www.teamviewer.com and download the program so he could fix my computer. I told him "sorry I don't download anything that allows anyone to look or change my computer" and so I told him no thanks I wanted to call Microsoft and verify it, he gave me the number 866-449-7629 ext 19976 and I said I would check and hung up. Later I sent a message to Microsoft saying basically the same things. Then I called the 866-449-7629 and got a guy who said his name was David Miller, lol, he actually sounded like James Williams. If I had to guess he was and he was from or is in India. He verified my phone number so I am sure he picked a name from the good old U.S.A. and I said thank you and hung up.  Will be interesting if they call back. Next time I won't be so polite.

Rcvd two calls to my landline on 11/20/15, within four hours of one another. Number on caller id was 15-522-1144. The number was an obvious red flag for me not to answer initially and no vm was left. I immediately googled the number and first link brought me here.
Thanks to ALL that posted comments, with full descriptions, of your interactions with these scammers. It certainly helps others, like myself, not to to be scammed by those wanting full access into our computers or other personal info that could lead to identity theft .

    Best advise I know:
*Do not answer calls from numbers you do not recognize or are blocked/private. (If they do not leave vm, clearly it was not important.)
*Do not ever callback/return call to any number you do not know, just to see who may have called you. (Without using *67 first, to prevent scammers from knowing a valid number to scam/spoof/hack.)
*Never ever give out personal info over the phone, regardless. (Especially SS#, banking info, and certainly not any computer info.)
*Get all your phone numbers listed on local/state and national "Do Not Call Registers". (It will not prevent all unwanted calls, nor stop the illegal solicitation from scammers. But it will cut down on a great many bs callers. And be sure to report future violators.)
*Set up your phone(s) to ignore calls from 'private/unknown' caller id's. (If you do not know how, look it up or contact your service provider for assistance.)

Be safe, be aware, be prepared!
