yes, they are calling my wifes phone daily...?   Messages say they are a private investigator?

female calling saying that she is a private investigator hired by some unknown person

woman claims to be working for a private investigator on behalf of a third party. They used my name.

Someone called me from this number as well.  The woman stated they were calling on behalf of a private investigator that had important information to get to me.  I never called it back.

caller says they are a private investigator. asks for someone then asks to call them back whether or NOT I know this person. i did not respond. how ridiculous to call back if you do not know the person...what is this?

These guys have bugged me for 9 months calling almost every day. I blocked their phone but they keep leaving voice mails. They previously called from a different telephone, same company. This is a SCAM. Do not call them or give them any information. They want your money and claim they are private investigators and you owe someone. I wish someone would stop them for good. Waste of time for everyone and more importantly the risk of being pulled into a fraudulent scam, be careful!

Woman named Porcha left a message to call. I called and a man picked up and they wanted to know what number they left the message on???? They said they were form a PRIVATE INVESTIGATION COMPANY- sounded very suspicious so I hung up!

I really enjoy these guys keep calling because that way I can keep telling on them in here at least.. they used to call from a different number, every day or week I would get a call for about 4 months, different people, same message. Suddenly they stopped calling and then they changed to this new number. Same scam, different phone (somebody may have finnally canceled their other phone!). I asked them if I would owe anyone, you would think that it would show in my credit report, but it does not (because I don't owe anything) they are trying to get information and money out of anyone they call. Don't let them !

Called phone doing the private investigator thing. They are a scam.  This is how they get past the telemarketer block.

I too received a call from 866-450-1749 stating they are HP Locate and have important information to give me.

I have no idea why I would be getting such a call so I Googled the company name and got the following:

HP Locate is a skip tracing company with a licensed private investigator that is hired by third-party organizations to assist them in locating individuals or companies

The actual company is located in Plano, TX which is where I too am located and if their b/s continues I will pay them a visit.  I suggest if they continue to bother others get their phone number for the Plano location off the website and contact them.  Besides the business description it was noted that the Texas BBB had 15 complaints about the company.  Hope this helps some of you.  Lil Tex

yes they are HP Locater.  I get these calls for someone that does not live here. it is a debt collector ( that's where the third party comes in ) that has bought old debt. ( debt that was written off long ago that you no longer owe )  they buy it for pennies on the dollar they want you to say that you owe it that way they can come after you to get you to pay it .  they call your neighbors and relatives to try and get to you !!!!!

Rep states there service is hired by a third-party to get important information to us.  I asked "Oh, well how much is that going to cost me?" Told him I would appreciate him discontuing the calls. Stated he did not know who I was so he could not further assist me.  I said "Exactly!  The internet says you are a scam so I will just post it online instead.

These people call saying I owe somebody money! I'm [***] 11 I don't owe anybody money! I don't have money! They are a SCAM don't call back they are trying to steal your money. They say that they are a private investigator but they obviously aren't if they call an 11 year old.

Your parents should be filing reports accordingly for you then! The FBI, Local Police, State attorney generals office, FTC & FCC.

Talk to your parents and have them file these asap! Also, try not to cuss, its very unbecoming for a 11 year old to do that!

How disgusting! The number has been calling for a few weeks and has never left a message til today. I never answer numbers I don't know and I usually google them. Yep private investigator, third party, same shpill everyone else is getting. This was a man named Paul from HP Locators and stressed how urgent it is for me to callback. Fat chance buck-a-roo!

Np Locator called saying "This is from a private investigator in reference to a third party who hired the. The name was Paul to call back. I wrote it down, searched # on net, not going to call it back, and wasn't anyways so whatever, its a scam I seen coming so why I wasn't going to call them anyways with or without searching the net for the number.

This number has been  calling me now for over a week and just today left a voicemail.  She said her name is LATISHA.  Also said that a " third party"  hired them to  get in contact with me. I WILL NOT  call her back.  I'm so glad there are sites like this to better inform us about crooked  people and companies like HP Locate!!

As others have said, they call saying they are a locator company, hired by a third party, to locate individuals and companies.  Thinking it was a scam, I called them back.  The lady repeated the above.  When I asked her who the third party company was, she stated that she couldn't provide that until verifying (with my social security number) that I was the right guy.  I hung up.
