You are wasting your time. You will never get a dime from me. And, there is not a thing you can do about it. Nothing, nodda, zip. And I do so much enjoy taunting the pond scum you have in your call centers. So keep calling. You'll give up, as so many others have before you. I am your worst nightmare... a skipped, non-collectable, judgement proof debtor. - Bureau of Recovery, LLC| 1 replyDear Consumer,

- PJReceived a recorded message from 1-866-471-3754 when I answered it said this is not a sales call this is a very important call for Lucas Merrill. Lucas Merrill hasn't had my number in 2 1/2 years as I have had it. I listened to the message and it said if you are not Lucas Merrill to push option 3. I did and got a live person who never said what company they were with. I said Lucas Merrill no longer has this number. She goes "how do you know we were calling for Lucas Merrill". I said because your recording said several times. She then acted like she didn't believe me. I said I have lived here since 11/07 and I get calls weekly from collectors, his doctors, friends, even his church calling to collect his tith that he is late on. I said he is not at this number. I hope they remove his number I am sick of getting his calls.

- FuzzyOne| 1 replyGot a call from this number today trying to make arrangements for payment of a past due Chase loan that was in second position on our foreclosed home in Nov 2009. The supervisor advised that they were the Bureau of Recovery and that they were a servicing organization for Chase. Although very accommodating, the cal focused on setting up a payment arrangement TODAY and that they would be sending an "Agreement" to be signed and notarized to put the "agreed-to" payment plan into effect. Lotsa luck - as I need more than a simple phone call from some unknown person to make any kind of "arrangement".
I wonder if calling their "NO QUESTIONS ASKED" removal number 866-297-2135, would really get your number removed from their call list? Anyone have any experience with this? Who are these guys anyway?- Caller: Bureau of Recovery

- average joe replies to FuzzyOneNo it will not. Most banks (like Chase) subcontract the collection of their 2nd mortgages/loans to limit their liability. Also, in light of recent real estate bust and its default aftermath, most bank-collection departments are not up to par with collection laws that involve mortgages. I suggest, you keep records of all the calls, letters, communications, etc. and let them keep calling you. Just KEEP records of times and dates of calls and/or communications. By law, you are only required to tell them ONCE to "stop calling you (either verbal or written notice)." However, they systematically ignore verbal notices. If you hire the right attorney, you can sue them for $1000 or more per each violation. Most collection companies use dialers to make the generic calls and once you answer, it transfers the call to a (most likely incompetent) agent that has absolutely no training or licensing to conduct regular collection or any other type of collection. Oh by the way, the dialers are designed to keep records and your attorney can subpoena these records to possibly file a class action suit against such collection companies. Don't get mad, look for the right attorney to make an example out of them.
Also, depending on what state you reside in, there are anti deficiency laws that protect you against collection efforts. I suggest you hire an attorney that is verse in Collection, Real estate, and BK laws. good luck. - Puffy replies to tired of chaseThis company is a fraud...they are not assigned your mortgage... if you owe Chase $$ on a mortgage these people do not have ownership or assignment of the loan... your loan is sitting on title and no further action can be taken other than to foreclose. If Chase isn't doing that...then the loan is just sitting there waiting for a negotiated settlement. Offer them a fourth of the balance... : )
- JW replies to Bureau of Recovery, LLCThis does not work, they are still calling after 2 weeks.

- Harry P. KnessI LOVE the post (above mine, I believe), the one that says "...if you want the calls to stop, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, just CALL US BACK and LEAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER, blah, blah, blah...."
CALL YOU BACK AND LEAVE MY NAME AND TELEPHONE NUMBER?? R U KIDDING ME??
The collection company known as "Bureau of Recovery" is posting this "notice" over and over, simply as an attempt to get some poor sucker to call in, and when he does, his phone number gets imprinted on their caller-ID. BEWARE: once you call them back, you may be giving them tacit approval to continue to call you indefinitely into the future...
The funniest part of that post is that they sign it "Complaint Department"... as if any collection agency has a "complaint department"...
...how stupid... DON'T fall for it...- Caller: nobody called me!
- Mike in FLJust got the call. They were looking for someone else in my apartment complex. The gentleman I spoke to was very friendly and conceded that whomever they were looking for may have skipped town.
