The website for that outfit went up July 30, 2017 and they are using a proxy service to hide their true identity and location.  The address on their website comes back to a registered agent.
Looks like that is when they started business as well.  Stealing money right out of the gate is it were.

I found an audio recording of a message they leave to their victims, err, I mean call recipients.

The calls are in regards to overdrawn accounts clients have left with major banking institutions most clients have no idea a negative balance was left until it’s to late and their reputations with the major banks are tarnished.

We have also found that most clients weren’t aware of the past due obligation due recurring transactions or pending transactions that were submitted after the account had been closed.

Most banks cover recurring payments/pending transactions to keep the clients reputation in-tact with their current creditors.  When a transaction (i.e Debit/Check) is posted after accounts have been closed during the 30-45 day period compliance period the account will automatically reopen if a pending transaction or automatic payment goes through the account.

Banking institutions do their best to inform clients, however banks are required to send documentation to the address provided by the client due to third party disclosure laws that forbid banks to send notification to any address other than the one that is on a clients license. Most clients aren’t aware of a deficiency balance until they’re reported to chexsystems.

Please feel free to Google “ Can the bank reopen a closed checking account”

Also educate yourself properly, before your financial reputation is damaged!

Potentially a combined legit/scam.  They had some details about me, but I contacted Wells Fargo and confirmed that there was no money owed and that they had no records under my SSN or the account number provided by the debt collector.
Most likely they have legit debts to collect on intermixed with false claims.  So that they can maintain a semblance of legitimacy on sites like this.

A "legit scam"?  That is a new one.  There is absolutely nothing "legit" about this outfit and they certainly are not going to "maintain a semblance of legitimacy" here.

Not much on these crooks since they have only been operating a few months.

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation (by law they have to go back to the original creditor to prove you owe the debt), cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (this will be the best money that you have ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

I talked to a representative after receiving a call from them they gave me a contact number for Wachovia 800-945-7745 I called and the debt was charged off in 2012 to a company called United Credit Recovery. The bank confirmed I owed it so I paid my 250.00 dollar debt. Just be smart guys! Not every company is a scam I pay my bills call them and do your research and make and educated choice period.

Sorry, I should have clarified.  I meant that it is possible they have SOME legit debt collections, but MY experience is that it appears to be a scam.  They certainly tried to scam me.  I was able to confirm with Wells Fargo that I owe absolutely nothing.

John - did you call Wells Fargo directly as well, and not just the number provided to you?  I called their customer service directly, then was transferred within their system to their collections dept, both of which confirmed beyond a doubt that I, in fact, had no records indicating any owed debt or any charged-off debt, which they would have records of.

The account was for a Wachovia checking account please contact 800-945-7745 which is the verification line to the bank and they will be able to validate the account did charge-off.

I spoke with a banker concerning the obligation and they didn't have a record at first, I called the company back and they gave me a toll free number that handles the older accounts for Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo reported me to Early warning systems, and sent me to United Credit Recovery as a chargeoff the only issue is they couldn't tell me the balance I owed when the account was sold. I'm an honest god fearing man, they confirmed my obligation going to the bank didn't work because they only have access to current accounts. When calling the number 800-945-7745 all you have to do is ask "Do I have a charged off account, provide your SSN, and account number." If they say no they you don't owe anything, Wells Fargo doesn't have the best reputation in the first place so I wouldn't be surprised if they sold bad debt to companies. This company actually was respectful and gave me all the time I needed to validate the debt and I paid what I owed. It seems like several people on this site are looking for ways out to pay their debt's and that's not me. If I owe it I pay it and the toll free number confirmed it.

"This company actually was respectful and gave me all the time I needed to validate the debt"  Ah, so they violated the law?  You see it is not your responsibility to verify anything.  It is their responsibility.  I can now see why you were calling them "legit".  You work for them.  You have proven this with the last few sentences in your post.

John, if you have an account number, why on earth would they need your full social?
I'm not trying to way to "not pay my debt" - this whole thing, including the fact that this company is using a virtualized office, comes across as incredibly shady.

"John Smith" is a shill for this company.  The simple fact of the matter is that the law spells out exactly what they must do (in very plain, understandable language I might add).  If you make them follow the law, then you will know with a certainty that you owe the debt and that they (this is the important part) have the legal right to collect it.  That is all spelled out in my previous post.
