    I got an automated VM saying they were from Clear and that I had not activated my service yet and to call back to that same number if there was any issue.  A couple of red flags:

    - I signed up with Clear over 6 months ago and use it for multiple hours nearly every single day since signing up.
    - That number was no where on their website

    I contact a Clear rep thru the Clear site's chat feature.  I let them know about the call, the number, and my concern that it was either a scammer using their name or something was wrong on my acct since it is VERY active.  She said my account was fine so I could ignore the call.  I asked again if that number was a legit Clear number and all she could say it might be an independent dealer contacting me.  I said if that is the case, the indie dealer is contacted me under false pretenses (something is wrong with my acct) to get a call back directly to them - sounds like a 'fishy' practice.

    I am not sure what the deal is with the call, but if you get a call about your Clear acct, I'd contact them to follow using only the numbers found on the website.

    I got an automated VM from this number saying they were from Clear.  The lengthy voicemail left instructions for plugging in my modem and thanked me for being a Clear customer.  I've had Clear for 2 years now....I would hope that by now I would know how the modem works......
    Just plain weird.

    I got a call from Clear that I wasn't using
    my connection and they asked if I needed
    help. At the time the service was providing
    about 200 kilobits/sec service during the day.
    All too often the service has dropped to about
    dial speeds. By the way supposedly this is a
    3 G service.  Practical download speeds at best
    are 400 kb/sec. I also got a call when I was
    using two different browsers at the same
    time. They thought my service cracked
    which it wasn't. And I got a call when someone
    (family) tried using the bittorrents. They didn't
    'we hate bit torrents' but that what was the motive.

    I too got this call and have been using Clear for several years plus got the newer modem early this year.
    If this is an independent dealer, how did they get my number & know I used Clear? Is Clear selling client lists?
