D/M Pers Black showed up on my bank account under the phone number 866-532-6646. I did not recognize it but I realize that it is Danbury Mint. I ordered something under their payment option so in my case, it is the monthly charge for the item that I ordered.

Yeah I saw this on my statement:  'D/M*PERS BLACK HINS 866-532-6646 CTUS' and googled it because I had no clue what it was, but saw this board and you guys helped me remember it was a gift from Danbury Mint that I had ordered on payment plan for my Daughter.

Funny thing is, I just Googled it to see what came up and guess what?!! All I found is your thread with that in the search results! I found no information in any searches of this number coming back to Danbury Mint, other than this thread, starting a year ago.

I would be suspicious of anyone posting details about this number. If you really are a "Danbury Mint' customer, then you don't need to post about it, because scammers also like to get a hold of someone's account and charge too.  They are the ones who come here to post "its legit" stories to reassure their victims its all good.

Never trust a caller to be who they claim, always call from an official number to verify if they did call.

Why was my credit card charge? I did not order anything. Who are these people?

Well, you're replying to a 2 year old post but no matter.  Call your CC company immediately and dispute the charge.  There are reports of legitimate CC charges appearing as D/M MDNGHTSPLW/BINST 2 CT and confirmed by some posters as purchases from the Danbury mint BUT those posts are over 4 years old.  Your charge might or might not be legitimate so call your CC company immediately.  Even if the number does belong to the Danbury mint, it doesn't mean that your caller was this company.  Scammers spoof numbers and legitimate businesses are  not immune to the practice.

I'm going through my deceased brother in law's checking statement from Oct 2019...making sure there no debt we haven't already discovered...and found this number with a charge of $147.00. Searched the number and only this thread comes up.  I went Danbury Mint's webpage and that number doesn't show up anywhere on their site. Finally I looked at the complete name on the statement. D/M*SEAL OF APPRVL RING. I looked up Danbury Mint Seal of Approval Ring and boom... a black ring that we found at my brother in law's house pops up. Mystery solved thanks to a hint from this thread.

Showed up this month on my AmEx.  Had no idea, as I rarely used AmEx.  Searched the phone number, and sure enough it was for a yearly ornament I order from Danbury Mint.  This site it great!

This number showed up on my VISA, with a dollar amount deduction, as being for Bradford Exchange, but it actually for Danbury Mint, which I did place an order with. The amount charged to my card is a valid amount and is payment # 1, of 3, that I agreed to, for an item I purchased for my wife!

Was searching several unknown charges on my dads credit card.  Danbury Mint does a good job getting seniors signed up for recurring payments.  Most likely my dad (or you or the person you're checking on) made a purchase that put them in a payment plan or monthly collectible.
