I got a letter from SOUND PHY E M GREATER MEMPHIS which had my name on it, a date of service and claimed i owed 262.65 dollars. I think they are a total scam, but I just am afraid of being wrong and then getting sued.

Receiving a piece of paper in the mail with a name, date and a you owe us this much is not a reason to pay a bill.  :"but I just am afraid of being wrong and then getting sued."  Still not a good reason to pay an ambiguous bill that arrives in the mail.  Extortionists could get rich off of you if you have that attitude.

Rcvd the below txt: From Sound Physicians: Thank you for allowing us to serve you and/or your family member. We will file a claim with the insurance on file and contact you with any questions or balance due. Please click on the link https://mydocbill.com/?u=2052866881 to confirm the information on file is correct. Reply STOP to stop texts regarding your bill from our billing service and receive a paper statement. (Sent by Zotec Partners)

Have not been in or at the hospital for anything and don’t know who Sound Physicians or Zortec are?  Did not and will not respond to these people, scam!!!

Just got the same text.  A family member recently had a hospital stay but Sound Physicians has no affiliation with the hospital or the insurance my family member has coverage with.  SCAM !!!!

Imthing somebody give our info to this scammers, I call this number that show up on the text message 866 535. 5215 and they give me a page www.ezinfo.com and come out to be a domain on sale with Chinese and English letters.

Received a call from this number ,threatening  Voice ,loud and  demanding to call this number, advising to view the statement,click my doc I’ll.com,contact  1-866-535-5215, …call was a voicemail.

I saw an unauthorized charge show up on my Credit Card bill, with " SOUND INPATIENT PHYSIC 866-5355215 WA" listed as the Merchant. Never received a Text, Call, nor (E)mail from them.

Assuming that "WA" is Washington State.... I live in Kansas and haven't been out of state in well nigh ten years now.

Obvious theft is obvious.

Sound Physicians called me and said they don’t have an updated address for me. “Call with my file no and account no to settle my bill” is what I was told to do. I am from Canada, and our medical care is free in my country. Scam call.

Could be or simply they have the wrong phone number listed or they dialed the wrong phone number.

While the company is located in Washington, it appears that they furnish physicians to lots and lots of different states.  What happens is that these physicians are not "in-network".  Plus physician bills are normally separate from the hospital bill.  That is clearly explained in both the paperwork you signed and by signs in the hospital.

This company does seem to have a bad reputation regarding billing.  I see that they have an F rating at the BBB with a pattern to the complaints.

These guys are total scammers. My mother is on Medicare and Plan F Medicare Gap along with Tricare. She's fully covered under this insurance and that's including deductibles, co-pays, physical excess charges etc - and has never paid and is not liable for any medical bill or doctor bill while covered under this insurance. She's received a couple of letters from these guys which I told her to ignore. Today she gets a letter from them saying that if she pays within the next couple of days they'll fix 75% off the bill. They were originally asking for over $1,500 now they're asking for 224 - but we have to act quick LOL. The emotional side of me wants to contact them but I'll ignore this letter also :-)

Medicare and supplement just paid a bill 4 4dates that I had no services in Aug. I haven't been in California in 25 years .  I will now notify them of fraud.

I received the same text. I too was concerned about scams and after reading everyone's comments, decided to investigate my records from ER visit. The admitting provider listed "Sound Physicians" after their name in the work reference, along with my hospital's address. This was found through my patient portal records. If you have access to your records via patient portal, I suggest you read through them and note each provider's name.
I also read through Sound Physicians website (via search, not link) and they state you are not liable for anything but your insurance deemed co-pay, and that even if it is out of network, they must bill it as in-network if you went to an in-network hospital, because you didn't choose the provider that attended you.
I hope this resolves your fears. It is always wise to be cautious; one can't be too careful these days! If you don't have a medical record portal available to you, you might try calling your hospital ER registration/billing.
