"We appreciate your interest in your Best Buy Mobile Performance Service Plan.  Unfortunately, your last payment of $7.39 was denied.  Payments must be current in order to receive service under this plan.  Please use the form below to provide us with updated payment information in the next 60 days to avoid cancellation by AIG WarrantyGuard of your contract."

Funny I don't have a Best Buy Mobile Performance Service Plan.  This came in the mail, not a phone call, but someone else is bound to look this up so this may help.

See, I *do* have a BB protection plan on my iPhone.

And the card it was charging to just expired, and they called me to tell me it was declined and to update the information.

Given that BB reps are telling people to call it all for service over BB's support forums, the idea that it's a scam is untenable.

(Got a call for a plan you don't have? Someone with a plan had that number or the number got attached to one in error!)

I got an email with this number in it telling me the credit card I used for my mobile protection plan was declined.  I have purchased neither phones nor a warranty at Best Buy.  In fact, my last purchase at Best Buy was a fan for my computer over a year ago.  The email used my name, and there was no mention of my phone number or type.  My email address does not contain my name, so it seems rather odd that they got my name right.

Got an email that was supposedly from best buy saying my card on file was declined. But when we called the 800 best buy. They didn't know this number or the email address that sent us the message.

I DID have a Geek Squad Protection plan.  When my account was hacked I got a new card and called them to update with the new card info.  3.5 months later I'm notified that the plan is canceled for non payment.  They had the account info and never used it. So I get  a letter to call this number and guy says he can't explain or do anything . .too bad so sad . . .SERIOUSLY!?

Exact same thing happened to me. I receievd a letter, called to update my info and now here I am 5 momths later trying to use my warranty and I am told it has been canceled for non payment. They keep telling me there is nothing that can be done. I have shown my phone history where I called and this forum to them and they pretty much said there was nothing they could do. I will NEVER do business with Best Buy again and will make sure this reaches every outlet I can to warn others.

I got this email soon after I got a new debit card number.  So, I expected to start seeing this kind of message.  However, it has been over two bill cycles and this is the first time I was notified.  The big clue was that the Best Buy website says they do not have a record of any protection agreement with that number, so I am pushed to the phone number to call and get it straightened out.  I get an automated message that asks for my credit card info.  Felt funny so I hung up.  I'll go inside the Best Buy store and get to the bottom of it.  This just smells fishy to me.  And the number to call for mobile protection plans on the Best Buy website is different than the number on the email.

I didn't get a call from this number.  But, like a number of other folks, I got a letter to my correct address stating that my GeekSquad Protection plan had been suspended due to non-payment.  I called the # and spoke to a person.  After some talk, she told me that this was for a protection plan on an iphone 6 that I bought in 2015 in Burleson TX.  I've never owned an Iphone of any kind, not visited the Bestbuy in Burleson.  The girl I spoke with spoke broken english, but I've come to expect that with phone support.  By the end of the call I was not convinced that it was legitimate, but the only information I provided or discussed was my name, email address and phone number.

    Um ...
That is all a scammer needs to get even more information about you, or sell your info to more scammers, as a "prize of the day"!
