Received a call from someone asking for my wife by name. He did not identify himself and the caller ID provided this number (866-572-8959) but did not disclose the name of the entity calling. When I asked who was calling, he abruptly hung up. I called the listed number and was told the name of the organization was The Northland Group and that they were calling on behalf of Citigroup. The gentleman I spoke to (Kurt) when I called was courteous and professional so I courteously voiced my complaint about being hung up on band then provided the contact information for our BK lawyer. He was still nice and wished me a happy evening.

I usually get a recorded call to call another number in regards to a Citigroup business matter.  I never hear who it's for because by the time I pick up, the message is almost done.

Get several calls from this number and have nothing with either northland as they mentioned above or citibank. These people ask for Gina and no one lives here by that name. ANNOYING

Last night I received a call from this same Kurt, asking for my brother, who is out of town at the moment.  When I told Kurt this, he laughed and called me a liar!  I told him to get a life.  He keeps calling, sometimes three times in a row, hanging up when I pick up the phone.  This is NOT a nice person!

I got a call from them today.

As my name is difficult to pronounce, if I answer the call and the misprounouce it, I tell them they have the wrong number. I did have an account with Citibank...but it is in the hands of my debt settlement company. And because Citibank Collectors are so...abrasive, I chose not to answer the calls and pass along the information.

We got a call from this number the other day and they asked to speak with me.  I was not there and my husband was told that I was listed as a 2nd contact person for my brother and they just needed to get him a message.  I found out that my father received a similar phone call that day.  I know for a fact that neither myself or my father would have been put down by my brother as a "contact" person.  They must have just researched him when he stopped answering their calls.  Isn't it against the law to call various family members in order to get a message to someone who is in collections (I assume)...

They came to my door, and left a note to call this phone #!

They are creditors, they want your moneys.

They called right after I hung up on another call. Do they have the capability to know when a phone line is in use so that they can call when you hang up?

I do not answer calls with a phony caller ID. The voice mail message was "will be with you shortly", obviously a call center automatic dialer.

just received a call from this number *866-572-8959* on a brand new cell phone...don't have any dealings with citicorp or northland !?! so figure must be an automatic dialer too :p

I keep receiving phone calls from 866-572-8959.  I actually picked up once and they said they were CitiCorp and wanted my security information.  I promptly hung up.  What can be done about these annoying phone calls?

I keep getting phone calls from 866-572-8959.  I want it to stop.

at least 4 calls today, rings once or twice then hangs up before the answering machine even picks up -- SHOULD BE ILLEGAL THIS IS HARASSMENT!!  

I too have wondered if these collectors somehow monitor phone lines these days since they seem to call in bunches and right after I use the phone

Reading these posts I don't feel so alone anymore. I am disabled and bedridden, very sick. I get calls from this number day and night and they will not take us off their list. They are looking for somebody I don't know and have never heard of.  I have reported them to Pat Maloney in San Antonio Texas as our attorney and he is taking action. PLEASE REPORT THESE FOOLS TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND LOOK UP HARASSMENT OF DEBT COLLECTORS ONLINE.  God Bless you all, and don't give up the fight.

Hello, I just received a call from this number (866) 572-8959 and my husband answered.   They left a message saying they were calling because some one used me as a personal reference for  a job.  They said her name was Terri Smith, since I don't know any Terri's I guessed it was a bill collector.  The female caller identified herself as Lori and left a reference number and everything.  Her extension was 3259 and completely fooled my husband with her professional and courteous demeaner.  I filed Bankruptcy 5 months ago.  She didn't say where she was calling from, just a personal department.

I just got a call from this number on my cell. I answered with a single "hello", nobody responded after a couple seconds so I hung up.

After reading the other comments here, I think I recall getting calls from this number in the past, but its probably been a couple years.

"Danielle" continues to call me and basically speaks to me in a very rude manner and talking down to me like I was a child.  When I told her to stop calling my cell phone and instead to deal with me by calling my home phone she said it was not against the law for her to call me and informed me that she will continue to call me as often as she feels like until I am willing to identify myself.  She has called me 6 times within two days.  The latest time, my husband finally answered the phone, she played the 'silent treatment' game with him.  He informed her she was to identify the company she worked for and her name, which she refused.  He then told her she had to the count of five before he refused to do business with her and her company needed to therefore sell our account to the next debt collector because her company would not see a dime of our money since she was being evasive and rude.

I also have been receiving phone calls from this particular name and phone number.  She keeps demanding that I tell them my account number to 'verify' that I am the person they are trying to contact.  Then when I refuse to give out my personal info to a person who won't even tell me what company they work for, then she tells me that I need to stop playing games with her that she knows who I am...

They are calling, sometimes 20 times a day. I'm disabled, can't get to the phone. Bottom feeders
