This number called my home two days in a row. The message is automated and asks that you press any number for an important business dealing. You press any number and a long anoying tone starts on the phone. I hung up, called the number back, which is sad to say very un-professional. I chose number 5, kathy, why do I care who I pick from there directory. I then speak with a foreign person, who is quite rude, asks for the number called and then asks if I am some person. I state no, they say sorry, and hang up. Today I call back and I get the same Kathy, She says sorry for the call, your number was in here twice. I asked what they are, she said " global finance " I asked what that was, she said she cannot say and hung up on me. Needless to say, I will get even with " Global Finance ". :)

This message was left on my answering machine..."This is not a sales or solicitation call. This call is intended for..." (most of the name said which is a recorded name was cut off)

"We are calling today from an organization that is handling a matter of yours. (I suppose for those who screen there calls the next options is for them...."Press 9 on your touch tone phone now or call toll free....the 1-866-577-5827 is repeated twice...then they give a reference number..

Here's the interesting part...they had most of our name wrong or the recorded message or garbled enough that I suppose would make you call back.  The first call was to a person who barely spoken English, not rude but upon learning that the name was mostly wrong BUT with our phone number he just hung up.  He did happen to mention he was calling from Global, that is all he said.  

This concerned me so the number was called again because I wondered how they got my home phone number.  With all the identity theft going on today, I wanted more answers.  A woman answered and when she started to be question she became immediately rude...said their inquiry was none of our business.  

I called back a couple more times and was quite rude back because the bi*ch kept hanging up on me...I thought this odd...more REPUTABLE companies, there reps don't keep hanging up you when your questions are reasonable.

I got on line to see if I could find some info on the number and lo and behold it is on a suspicious phone numbers list.  Now that I found this and read the other entry, they must have said to that person that they were Global Finance.  I called the number one more time, all it does is list names about 10 of them...press this number for this person; this number for that person...KATHY was one of them.

PEOPLE...THIS IS A SCAM!  Not sure how they coerce information out of people but they must be somewhat successful at it because a lot of effect went into this.  PLEASE BEWARE!!!  I will continue to make inquiries to the authorizes about this.

Just received a call from 866-577-5827. A very aggressive / one-side voice spoke in a desperate tone ... looking for a ... (garbled name) and made reference to a message number. If they are no more professional that what I just heard, they can stick up their desperate ....

Apparently, others are receive similar calls today and yesterday.

If they call back, I will make special concessions in tracking. I am an IT pro and can stir the pot.

Got a call from the good people at Global Credit Services, Inc.  The people calling are from Toronto, Canada and appear to be calling creditors for Captiol One credit.  They've called my number repeatedly, and I've called back stating that the person they are looking for no longer has this phone number. The person I spoke with, once I called their toll-free line, said their company is based in NY, NY.  This is the adderess I found for them - Global Credit Services Inc.; 545 Madison Avenue; NY, NY 10022; (212) 308-6060 or (888) 308-6263.  I have yet to call there.  But it seems like a good place to pester.  I wonder if they like to read magazines?

Last two days I've received calls similar to the above.  To me they sounded like people trying to sound like robots; weird.  The first one sounded female, the second male.

In addition to a garbled name that sounded vaguely like "Greg Lalich," they said that the person for whom they were calling had "unfinished business at this office." They then provided a reference number.

People on the up-and-up don't do business this way.  Whatever they're up to, whoever they really are, they're crooks.

OK looks like all of you got the same calls...seems to me the calls are from Canada, Markham to be exact. I have received calls from them as well from 18665775827 and 905 413 8586, this number is in canada...I wouldnt bother talking with them, prob a scam!

I have the same 2 numbers they appear to be scam artists that will answer no questions about their business 866 577 5827 and 905 413 8586.  The real question is how we can make their life difficult:)

These numbers seem to be the same as everyone else on this site. They are calling my number and asking for my sister. They call about 5 times a day and leave one or two messages a day for about 2 weeks. It is very annoying!!!!

I was able to speak with a supervisor...after being hung up on three times and encountering a hostile employee.....They seem very unprofessional and I would suggest reporting them to the BBB and anyone else to make their life miserable.

Have been recieving unsolicited calls at my home number similar to other complaintifs. automated voice urging me to press any number to discuss urgent matter. After pressing a randome number  "sharif" starts asking for my phone number, name etc. Claims to be with "Global credit and collection"
I asked for and recieved his phone # - 866 577 5827. Got real snotty when I called back and repeatdly insisted they not call my number any more. didnt know my name or phone  number, but he called me??
Plan to file complaint with FTC per previouse respondents.

Just to add our name to the list, we have also recieved several calls from these people. Saem phone numbers as above. ONe calling from 1-905-413-8586 to tell us to call 18665775827. Has anyone played along with them and seen were it goes? I'm thinking I might do this as I have Skype and the number is untraceable. Give them the refernce ID and try to get some info out of them.

I recived a call from both 18665775827 and 905 413 8586 today and I have filed a complaint with the FCC.

They told me they were looking for Leroy W Daniels and I told them he didnt live here then gave them a piece of my mind. They said they would call anytime they wanted so I said some more and got hung up on :)

I have been receving calls from these jokesters also, they will do anything to get ahold of you, I played along and found out that they were a credit collection agency looking for the person who prevoiusly owned my phone about a credit card that was past due.

These people call all the time no one there. Have no idea what they want.

Received a message on our answering machine saying something to the effect that "Due to federal law they cannot disclose the nature of the call" and then left the number.  I called back and a man answered.  I said that I received a call and they asked for my husband.  I asked them the middle initial of the person they were looking for and then I told him that they were mistaken because my husband has a different middle initial from the one they were looking for.  He just hung up.

I receive phone mail almost every day from 1-866-577-5827, stating that due to federal regulations they cannot state some urgent message, and that I should call 1-866-577-5827 to speak to a representative. I haven't bothered calling back, as it's just blatant phone spam.

Message left to call this number about a confidential matter. Upon returning the call, asked my phone number.  Wanted to speak to a person who does not live here.

I get calls looking for my deadbeat ex-brother-in-law who never lived at my address.  The company calling is Global Collection which has a very interesting website www.globalcollection.net  They brag about how many harrassing calls they can make with their computer dialers. The site also has the names and bios of several of the officers, if anyone wants to harrass them back. They are probably calling on behalf of Capital One.
