This is a telemarketing data collection agency/scam.

Just got a postcard from them today with a return address of:

AWARDS CENTER
P.O. Box 745069
Arvada, CO 8006

Here's what it says:

Dear ****,

Good news, we have $150 in complimentary GAS reserved in your name! To redeem your gift now... Call Toll FREE 1 (866) 585-5928 with your redemption number at the bottom of this card.

i just got a card JUST like that in the mail! i'm going to call and see what they say. they took my redemption number and are now trying to sell me some magazine crap so i hung up on him!!! its just a scam to get you to buy something!!!

same postcard here, seems like a waste of paper and money to send these all over the country for a scam, but whatever its not my loss

Got a post card with said "... $150 in complimentary GAS reserved..." and "call 1 866 585-5928. Definitely looked like a scam as there was no proper name or address in the card. Sent by Lee Jackson, Awards Center, PO Box 745069. Arvada, CO 80006. Decided to look up in the net. Glad to find this page. I am not going to call them

Gee I wonder how many people called it and bought 150 dollars worth of magazines??

I received a card today, 12-13-08, from AWARDS CENTER, PO Box 745069, Arvado CO 80006:  "Dear Barbara, Good news, we have $150 in complimentary GAS  reserved in your name!  To redeem your gift now...Call Toll Free 1 866) 585-5928 with your redemption number at the bottom of this card.  Thanks, Lee Jackson.......Call 9 AM - 9 PM EST Monday - Friday, Redempion # GCXXXXXXX."

I googled it immediately and found out all the info about it!  Needless, to say, my card too is going in the trash!

"If it's too good to be true, it probably is"!  They just prey on the "hopes" of people that they are winning something; especially in these days and times of unemployment and economic crisis.  They should really be ashamed of themselves and run out of town on a rail!!! Avoid these people at all costs!!

Recieved same postcard as everyone else. I figured it was some kind if scam. Checking this site confirmed my suspicions. Thanks everyone. Mine too, goes in the trash. Keep up the good work 800NOTES!!

I get this stuff all the time. Thank goodness for the internet because when I do, I check here, and sure enough, its all crap. I received that post card too, and then read all the messages, and so I shredded it. THANKS TO YOU ALL!!

I just called and was straight up with them and I said all I wanted was the gas card and he said ok but... He then went on to say that I will not get a $150 gas card unless I gave credit card numbers and sent them money.  I insisted that he send me my gas card, he said no and hung up.  I wonder what the Post Office has to say about this scam, since Awards Center is using the post office for this scam.  Anyone know what the responsibility of the post office is on something like this?

My son got this same scam gas card in the mail yesterday. Stupidly I called that number -- but said would not give the redemption number until they tell me who they are and what company and state [or country] they are located from... Did not want my son to be scammed again -- so if you know where to REPORT this person-company -- please let me know.  I will be going to check at the BBB after typing this here.  Later

Well, at least the Government is getting their share, through the Postage. GO USA!!!! :D
