Apparently, these guys managed to get a hold of various phone numbers in the U.S. and they are operating their scheme in Vegas. They offer you a "free" vacation or some other bonus as long as you give out personal information and/or complete a survey. Then, they bill you for bogus charges, such as magazines, and charge you $62 a month for nothing. Do NOT give out any information to these people; not even your name! It's also very weird if you call these people back. You get a short message with a curt reply: "You will be contacted..." CLICK!

These "lawyers" left a message on my daughter's phone, looking for me, the pitch was 'we need to talk to her about a lawsuit'.  They left an ext. # to call back, and referenced a bogus cause no.

How they connected me to my daughter is unclear.  The msg. claimed I had listed her as an emergency contact!

I'd like to know why the authorities can't catch these guys.  Somebody is paying their phone bills, or they couldn't call people.

Since you apparently spoke with someone, what was their pitch?  I have never done business with Chase Manhattan Bank.

I received a call from this number with a message that was blurred when it came to law firm name and my name - "James (this is not my name) my name is Diane Davis I'm a legal assistant for the office of attorney Terrence McKelvey . I'm calling regarding a ??? in ??? that concerns account 186712.  This is important you contact our office soon as possible numbers 1-818-666-0647 ext. 423 and please refer to account number 186712.”
Area code 818 is San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles.

The call claimed to be from a "Monica Webb" at the law offices of Calb--- (intentionally mumbled) threatening to file a lawsuit on a debt that has long since been paid to the original creditor. I have reported them to the PUC and to ATT.

these guys are rent a lawyers they called me too and got me to do a check by phone for $2000, I looked them up on the web and they are all over the place, every thing I came across said they were scum debt collectors, but every website was connected to bud hibbs. so I called him and told him my story and he was a little rude, pretty much just said good luck. His website said he was from texas so I thought for sure he'd be a nice guy. I don't know who to trust anymore.

I also got a call from Mckelsy Law firm from this number. They were looking for another person. I was just looking to see if this was a legit call. Thanks for confirming the name!

I got a meesage on my voicemail from someone named "Miss Sherry" looking for a specific person whose name I do not recognize.  We just moved last week and have a new number in a new city.  My husband's voice is on our voicemail and gives our first names which is not like the person Sherry is seeking.  Anyway, this "Miss Sherry" at attorney Terrence McKelvey's office proceeded to leave us very personal, significant and considerable amounts of information about this woman that we do not know. Sherry instructed me to call her urgently at 866-606-4779, ext 425.

Just looked this up and found that Terrence D. McKelvey is part of a huge group of attorneys.  McKelvey, Esq., has offices based in Amherst, NY and Buffalo, NY.  This group specializes in bankruptcy cases.  The Sherry's and Diane's from their offices are there "sales" people, they get lists from creditors and then let their fingers do the walking to get the legal business $$$ for assisting and filing a bankruptcy case.  Some of their info, however, is incorrect as they are are also calling many people who just have similar names, etc. and do not have "bankruptcy issues".

Has anyone noticed the huge increase of "Toll Free" 800, 877, 866, 888 -or- area code and then "unknown caller" calls - all from unwanted telemarketers offering misc. incl. Allstate, vultures offering loans,attorney groups offering assistance with "bankruptcy", etc. etc.  Ever since almost all of us registered on the "Do Not Call Registry" - they have found a way to BUY our phone numbers from services we once used and had an existing business relationship with and now they can slither their way around the do not call registry and "legally" call us.  Leave it to the telemarketing companies to come up with a way to beat the system which once threatened their existence as they are now once again thriving and legally pestering us at all times - and YES, again mostly at dinner time!!!

Law firm belonging to Mckelvy, regarding a debt from 7 years ago. All i know is that if you get a call from this so called law firm be aware that these people are crooks and are just trying to make fast money and threaten you with lawsuits and such. all i know to is that they can kiss my a$$

They called me 4 times today.
I have soundboards from ebaumsworld saved to my favorites, so when they call, I putthem on speakerphone, and they talk to people like, Judge Judy, Rocky, Howard Stern or Jim Rome. It usually takes them a couple minutes to realize they are talking to a computer. lol
The one dude realized after the second call it was Judge Judy, so I called back with the Jim Rome sound board.
Then some lady called me back "private" and I talked to her as howard stern. She didn't realize it was a computer for about 5 minutes.

Wife received a call from an Amber, representing Attorney Ranieri who was filing suit against myself in Riverside County Court in Winchester, CA. She wanted my wife to have me call them back at 1 866 606 4779, Ext 477. Since there is no possible way there could be actionalable cause for a lawsuit anywhere, let alone Winchester, Ca since I have never been anywhere close to California I did not return the call. A quick Google search indicates this number is a scammer. Now it appears the Attorney is changing his name. I have filed a complaing with the FTC. Hope they go after these vermin.
