They just call my number telling me that they need to change my payments for  student loans. I do not have student loan scan

A woman left me a .message about repaying my student loan.  Have me a  file#.  I didnt call back be cause that will appear like I reached out to them.
Here is news:  I DO NOT HAVE   A STUDENT LOAN!!!  I never studied here in the US.

Scammer.  Call bypassed ring function going directly to voicemail probably using Slydial from 224-307-1337.  Message left was a prerecorded female human voicemail referencing a different call back number.  Transcript of message is as follows; "Yes, this is Cynthia Arnold I'm calling in reference to your federal student loan, um I need to discuss your repayment options with some new changes that have taken effect.  if you could be sure to call me back, my number is 866-607-3993 and, um I’m going to give you a reference number.  If you would have this handy when you call back, that will make things a lot easier.  Your reference number is 220004.  Thank you."  Report to FTC & FCC.

I just got the same exact message!  Same reference number too.  Same woman.  Someone else called a month or so ago, I never called them.  I don't have a loan but my son does, so thought maybe he gave out my number.  So glad I didn't call them back.  I figured anything related to his loans would have been snail mailed not phone call.

I don’t have a student loan. School was paid in full when I graduated. Do not call back, just report them and block the number. Congress and our phone provides need to do more  about the multiple calls we all receive each day. These calls jeopardize public safety and in some cases like mine, they could impact your employment. Tell your friends and family. Enough is enough

Had exact same message and reference numbers as you. At least they could change the reference numbers. SCAM.

Cynthia told me she wanted to discuss payment options for my federal student loan. Read through notes for this phone number and got the same file number as another report. Since I paid off my student loan last year and she did not say WHO she wanted to talk to, I know it is a scam. So if Cynthia wants to talk to you about file number 2200004, I suggest you hang up.

Just got the same voicemail with the same phone number and same reference number! Scam!

I received the same message as everyone else.  I did call back and got answered by man.  I asked some questions like what this organization is?  is it a government loan services or a private company loan service?  A man answered "no this is not the loan service that collect your payments.  This is a non-profit organization to see if you are qualified for exemption for the student loan."  Then he asked "can you verify your date of birth, Mr. _____" (he probably got the last name from the caller ID).  I immediately asked him "wouldn't you have it in the record?" without giving my birth date.   The phone line was immediately cut off after the question.  This is definitely a scam or phishing attempt to get your personal information!
