Heavy middle east accent ... calling from Dell to tell me my Inspiron has a problem. I have no Dell. Scam. Funny thing is, I work in a computer shop, and they call here once a week.

First time the call was a restricted number, this time it is from the above # telling me I have downloaded illegal data. My computer hasn't been connected to the internet since i bought it.

Just got a call from this twice first asking me for my Dell service number, and on not giving it to them I was told it's an emergency call and they're calling to tell me my laptop is about to crash. Please don't entertain this number.

I also got a call from this number - heavy Indian accent - super demanding - asking me to get on my computer now because it is critical and I asked them for an email confirmation of this matter and the man said he can't because the hacker will know of this email so the hacker will immediately block it and that is why I have not received anything... FULL OF [***]!

I had a very nice Indian man from India on the phone. He was super helpful showing me how to open my event viewer. But no problems there. So I said you must have the wrong number, my pc is fine. He said no we are sure the problem is with your pc, no mistake, let me connect my pc to your pc, then I'll show you the problems..... I daid oh I'm sure you will after injecting malware / trojan viruses or encrypting my hard drive for ransom of money. Then he said I can see you know that I'm trying to scam you, I'm will not deny that. So lets both be honest ok. I said alright. He said is there anyway you would just send my company money? He claimed to be in California. I told him I was tracing his location through the phone line via a ping response (ms=rough distance) but I already knew he was in India. He said I'm scared and said sorry I'm going to hang up now. Disconnect. I didn't scare him. I didn't say anything accept nice things. I guess maybe he knew he was doing something illegal?

Scam of course. I had a bad feeling he would have encrypted my hard drive but who knows?

Been getting this call as well.  I kept telling them to stop calling but they continued.  Finally was prepared with the Dell Fraud Report phone line when they called.  I told him I was concerned about the call but could he call me back on my land line and gave him the dell fraud number to call back.  We will see if I get anymore or if they update the file to reflect I know what is up.

said my computer had a lot of error messages and support needed to be updated,  I would almost bet the accent, was india or there about, but said name was JIM BROWN  I bought laptop from Walmart, it is a hp and don't know how he got my number turned this over to my lawyer, and adult abuse, I am 92 yrs. old.
