Older male with a New York accent called and asked for me by name, stating that he wanted to update my personal information for my high school alumni file.    He didn't not provide his name but stated he was calling from out of state, in San Antonio, Texas.    He was at first very pushy, but after I asked him several questioned he would only say that he was acting on behalf of a "third party" and that he had never attended the school nor knew the school's contact information.     Incredible.

I did not receive a call from this phone # but received a post card with return address of VFW Ohio, Oral History Project, 35 E Chestnut St, Columbus, Ohio. By presorted 1st class, Dallas Texas. It said important member verification requested, please call. Sounds like info person above got from man on phone REGARDING OUT OF STATEProbably true. But card said they are looking fir any changes in info. No changes for me so I do not intend to call. Could be fake.

Looked up VFW Oral History project. Try looking it up.A company called PCI prints books for organizations and schools and sells them. It appears that VFW does benefit from this. Look it up. Judge for yourself.

I received the same mailers in the past couple of weeks. Local post has no knowledge so I'm not verifying my information.
