- Rachel| 1 replyThey are calling me at all times of the day relentlessly. I just called back from my work number and heard a recording that they are a marketing firm for newspapers and cable. I recently decided not to renew my paper subscription, and the people there called for about a week. Apparently they've turned it over to these guys now.

- bobCaller asked to verify address so they could send coupons from the Seattle paper & it wasn't a sales call. When she stated my address I told her I don't want any. Temporarily forgot about the do not call list, but it probably didn't matter since it wasn't a "sales call"

- LarryJust called and said something about being from the Houston Chronicle and that they were having problems getting my credit card to work for payment of my subscription. I told him I would not give my credit card number to him and to contact me via email. I then hug up. Checked my credit card and there are no problems. Hope they catch these sob/s
- PeggyThis number called multiple times in one day to collect payment for a local paper subscription. I said there's no way I'm giving my payment info to a phone number not traceable to that paper that called me, but the solicitor kept pushing. No way am I giving my payment info to an untraceable number who called me, I will call the newspaper directly to confirm, she kept trying to say she could take care of it and I didn't need to look up and call the local paper directly. I hung up and called the paper directly, they confirmed that the subscription had run out and that it had went to another agency to collect. Still: NEVER GIVE YOUR PAYMENT INFO TO A CALLER WHO CALLED YOU. HANG UP, LOOK UP THE COMPANY'S OFFICIAL INFO AND CALL THAT COMPANY DIRECTLY TO RESOLVE ANY PAYMENT ISSUES.
- Caller: Unknown/Collection Agency
- Call type: Debt collector
- ‘Catty’They asked for Catty-( not my name but close) leads me to believe they had my signature in front of them..? - RJRecently canceled my subscription to LA Daily News due to delivery issues. The latest tactic with subscriptions is to automatically renew even without a credit card. They’ll just send you to collections if you don’t call to cancel. These aggressive tactics mean I won’t be subscribing to any papers or magazines in the future. The quality of these publications should stand on its own without resorting to deceptive billing tactics to force a renewal. I assume they are calling to request I re-subscribe but thanks to the info on this terrific website I have determined the calling party and blocked them from contacting me.
