- CaliGirlThis is Time Warner Cable calling to establish service.
- incipioI got this call too... When I answered on the 1st ring, they hung up....
I believe it may be Time Warner as I just signed up. But why would they call and hang up? - txTI called the number and it was in fact Time Warner Cable's Sales Dept...after much transferring and being put on hold and of course explaining my story over and over, I finally reached someone helpful. I explained that even though I was a TWC customer, for some reason I was getting calls to my cell number several times over the past few weeks, and they never left a message. This was eating up my "minutes" and therefore costing me money, as well as frustration. He looked up my TWC account, and said my cell number wasn't even listed on there (strange) and he couldn't find any listing for the 866 number either. I said, well, I googled it and it looks like a bunch of other people are getting calls from it, so you guys have a problem. He spoke to his supervisor, and she eventually called the number (duh) and figured out that it was the TWC sales dept., and she emailed them a note with my cell number asking them to take me off their "list." So if you guys have the patience to go through all this, you might want to give it a shot. We'll see if it works.

- Seriously...| 1 replySame here... Why on earth would they hang up when I answer? Not even a pitch for their digital phone service? They have some serious problems...
- Caller: Time Warner Cable?
- not Michael replies to Seriously...They are probably using a robo-dialer. They are making more calls than they have operators. If all the calls get answered they hang up on the excess.
Its illegal to use a robo-dialer. Its illegal to call anyone on the Do Not Call list. Visit here
https://www.donotcall.gov/ to file a complaint. - CindyI just got a call from that number. They didn't speak when I answered. What's funny is I signed up with Time Warner from the phone they called but gave my work numbers. They must use caller id... Either that or someone where I work gave them my real number. If so, SOMEONE is gettin' dirty looks in the breakroom!

- ronWe get calls on our ememgency cell phone during the day and one at 1am. It rings, when we answer it hangs up. Since this is a security number, it could lead to unnecessary police action. Time Warner refuses to say this number is in their system. Last night we turned in a police report, and today got another call. How can this be stopped.
- Caller: Time Warner
- SueJust got the call. Had to say Hello twice before got an answer. Said someone called for service at this address. Asked her to verify the address that called for service. She would not. We have not called for service and do not have service with TW. The caller seemed to be of East Indian desent from the sound of the voice. We will report this number to the do not call list. Ask that others do also.

- CMSimilar experience to others - received several calls from Time Warner's automated system attempting to make an appointment to install service. Time Warner doesn't even provide service in my area and I have never done business with them.
Got several menus deep in their system in an attempt to talk to a live person, but was eventually disconnected. I filed a complaint with donotcall.gov. I strongly suggest others do the same.
I also suggested a regulation that any company using an automated dialer MUST provide a "Press 0 to speak to an Operator" option within the first 10 seconds of any automated outgoing call.- Caller: Time Warner Cable
