- STG| 1 replyI got a call from this number. They said they were Reliance Home Comfort and wanted to sell me some sort of maintenance package for my furnace. They called me and were going to ask me some information, probably 'please confirm your address' but i cut her off before then.
Eitherway, I OWN my own furnace so they calling me was wierd. I didnt give them any info, cause quite frankly if your calling me, you should already know it all. - JagJust got a call, didn't pickup. I never pick up 1800 numbers. Good to know it was good old Relience. Can't wait to close my business with them.
- HansyIf you have a decent phone, it will have 'blocking' on it. We have over thirty of these [***] blocked. When the number does not appear on your phone screen, don't answer it or tell him/her to get a life and FO.

- sharbobI didn't pick up when I saw the number with no identifying name. Instead I dialed it back later.
The answering message identified the number as Reliance Home Comfort and it provided the opportunity
for the caller, me, to be placed on their do not call list.
I find this an acceptable response.- Caller: Reliance Home Comfort

- D. Noblereceived a telephone call from 866-619-6011 and when I answered, I heard only music playing.
After about 10 seconds (enough time to record the number and audible music), I hung up.
I then called Bell Canada and complained about the call.- Caller: unknown

- Shari replies to STGThe call you received did NOT come from Reliance Home Comfort.
It came from *SIMPLE SOLUTIONS* "on behalf of Reliance Home Comfort", another company.
I have found, especially recently, that rogue Telemarketing companies are claiming to be affiliated with other reputable companies, to baffle home owners. Using this strategy, the blame for annoying telemarketing attempts is usually targeted to the reputable, easily recognized, company.
If you receive a Telemarketer call and choose to follow through with their "DO NOT CALL LIST" option, be careful to follow directions thoroughly. Do NOT hang up until you have followed all directions completely or it will permit them to continue calling. If you are not sure you have placed yourself on the DNC List, call the Telemarketer "SIMPLE SOLUTIONS" number back - 1-866-619-6011 - choose 1 to be put on the DNC List and then enter YOUR number including area code and wait for verbal confirmation. Record the date of your call because if in 30 days they continue to call, they can be reported and charged.
I hope anyone reading this will find it helpful. - ShariThe call you received from 866-619-6011 did NOT come from Reliance Home Comfort.

- Shari replies to RandalThank you for the additional info Randal. Every bit of info really helps!!! Telemarketers really chap my chillies!!!
- RuralbyteYes it was a robocall from Simple Solutions, trying to sell maintenance package for Reliance.
We only have a hot water heater from them, that has gone from $5.00 to $15.00 a month to $75.00 every 3 months. Why, on God's Green Earth, would I let them anywhere NEAR my furnace.

I followed the SimpSol'ns DNC directions, and will carefully check for any calls after 30 days.
Q: If their computer can select/generate my number and call me today,
Why does it take 30 days for the stupid computer to delete my number?- Caller: Simple Solutions for Reliance

- PaulI receive at least one call from this number a day (it is usually 2 or 3 though). I don't usually answer as I know it is a telemarketer, but the couple times I have answered I was disconnected within the first 10 seconds.

- John| 1 replyOMG despite filng their name and number to the government DNC list, this SIMPLE SOLUTION telemarketnig company calls me EVERY YEAR! This just shows how useless the government DNC list is.
Every year I call back to the 8666196011 in the middle of the night to add my number to their down DNC list, and I have to endure multiple call in the next 30 days (really 30 days? I never count) before they stop.
Then the cycle starts again next year!- Caller: Simple Solution

- Bill replies to JohnJohn,
Your request to be removed from the calling list must be honoured for 3 years.
From the CRTC Web site: "Internal do not call lists are to be maintained by the telemarketer on its own behalf or on behalf of a client of a telemarketer and remain active for three (3) years effective within thirty-one (31) days from the date of the consumer's do not call request."

Telemarketing Rules (within the link above)

Note the dates when you make your request and when the calls recur and report to the CRTC. - BillThe first time this number called today, I didn't answer, but after prepping myself by reading these posts I answered the second call. It was a very pleasant and professional lady who stated that it was Simple Solution obo Reliance Home Comfort. I requested that my number be removed from all Simple Solution call lists, and she stated that Reliance is their only client and that I would be removed from their list.
I've recorded the date and expect no further calls. Although telemarketing calls are annoying, we have to recognize the unfortunate fact that enough people respond positively that the business model is viable. However, legitimate telemarketers will not waste their time or subject themselves to the potential penalties by recalling numbers that have asked to be removed from their calling list.- Caller: Simple Solution obo Reliance Home Comfort

- RCalled me 4 times yesterday. I answered twice, and the call was dropped each time.
I called back and placed my number on the DNC list, understanding that this can take 30 days to come into effect.
Received my second call so far today...I suspect there will be more to follow.
My call display shows the call is coming from Reliance.
I had similar issues last year and called Reliance directly (don't recall which number) to voice a formal complaint with a representative. At this point I had stopped receiving the calls. However, looks like I'm back on the call list again.
At this point I've had it with their unprofessional sales tactics, and have purchased my own water heater from the local hardware store and will have it installed this weekend. As for my Reliance unit, Reliance, you can come pick up your water heater, it will be on the curb-side.
