it keeps calling every single day. today it call 2times. and don't know who he is.

Out of the Blue I now have 2 numbers calling my cell phone: 8666474469 & 8666477239... I go to answer and they hang up... If I don't answer they leave NO massage... They call EVERY day now, sometimes 2 time a day... I cant find anything on them on the net... WHY!!??? Someone please let me know who this is!!!

They called me too, some kind of telemarketer selling magazines saying your in a sweepstakes to win money or something.

If you have a credit card through Credit card services which is Orchard bank Aka Hsbc bank. It is a creditor trying to collect a debt from you. They will not identify themselves because they dont want you to know who they are if someone else answers the phone they will ask them a bunch of questions to find out where you are basically they want to be paid and they like playing the no answer game.

I got this call at like 6 in the morning last year and now it is starting again.  It is 11 am here and they have already called 5 times.  I never answer calls when I don't know who they are from so I don't answer it and I never get a message.  It annoys me so bad.  I never thought about any of that. I don't have a credit card though that bank, but maybe my debit could be linked to that.  Thanks for the info Maria!  Now I know not to answer it!

I got a lot of calls from this number about 5 months ago, sometimes 3-4 times a day! It lasted for about three weeks, then stopped. Now it started agian. I did some research and as long as you don't answer they will stop. Once you answer the phone, even if there is nobody on the line, a computer knows that the number is active and they will continue to call. but if you don't answer the computer eventually registers your number as non-active and will move on.

I don't have a credit card through that bank either, so I'm thinking that's not what it is.  Today and yesterday I got calls from 1-866-457-8853 and 1-866-647-4469.  The first number called me twice yesterday and I answered once and no one was there and the second number called me once today.  I'm getting really annoyed

I got two calls today from 1-866-647-4469 and was a man who told me that I won 2 tickets at Hanna Montana concerts and if I accept, I have a chance to won many prizes. It was very suspect. I never ask for free tickets.

I sucked into a free $50 dollar gamespot coupon deal, Started clicking off a list of email offers i didn't want and then another ,then another list,then another list ,and another and and another ,thena after 1/2 hour of this ,they insisted i join a purchase offer to complete deal, i made the mistake of putting my cell phone # for gamespot card ,noe this # calls and leaves no message on voice mail,big scam, report them.

i got that call 2 min a part this morning, but everytime i picked up no one answered and hung up. I have no idea who it is. Though I though maybe it's a bed connection cause my bf is in jail right now and he tried to call me as well i got pre paid collect calls on my cell. I dunno though hearing things from you guys makes me think it's just some telemarketer. the number was 18666474469

I keep getting these calls from 866-647-4469.  They called once yesterday and then again today.  They always call around 10 a.m.  I would answer and they would hang up, then I would try to call the number back and there would be a busy signal.  I think it all started because I was trying to win something on the internet and I had to enter my phone number and it was just a big trap.  I learned the hard way, but never enter your phone number onto the internet.

Hey I've been getting these damn calls too! WTF I do not just give out my cell number to random people (nor do I write it on bathroom walls) I am very protective of my privacy so it might very well be some sort of list this company purchased. I haven't answered the call, b/c I don't answer numbers I don't know. If it's someone I know they leave me a message usually saying "Hey, this is _________ call me back." I then know to program that number as a friend and no worries. These calls are like clock work from numbers 866-457-8853 & 866-647-4469 always phone in the morning(PST).

So I googled "866" and found this article:

Hypothesis - Let's call IT back from random payphones (remember it's toll free) and just leave the phone dangling, essentially don't wait for an answer you have better things to do with your time, right? Each minute it's on the line the owner of these numbers is getting billed. Taste of his own medicine!

I'm glad to find this site.  I was getting calls from this number too and didn't answer them.  I'm glad now that I didn't and will continue to ignore them if they do it again. I like the plan that NET gave to give them a taste of their own medicine.

I got a call from this number and i screened their call, i overheard two ladies talking to each other (after she had said hello to me and realized there was a message- even though i was listening on the other end) and they had a brief conversation (probably a cubicle conversation about lunch) and laughed and then hung up. Not sure if it was a scam but definetly not very professional.

I have been getting calls from this number recently.  I answer they hang up. So, i have no idea whats going on.  Im going to try and ignor these numbers from now on.

this was a scam about winning money but they wanted your credit card number to pay taxes.  How can this be reported so they won't keeping scamming people?
