I got a call from this place asking me for employment verification information for someone who worked part time for me last year. I do not have any idea if this company is legit and will not share info with them unless I do.

Got a call from someone who did not identify herself.  She said, "Do you have an HR department I can talk to?"  I asked, "Who is calling, please?"  She said, "Reference pro." I said, "Yes, we have an HR department.  Do you wish to verify employment?"  She said, "Um.. yeah."  Not very professional at all.  I transferred the call to HR.  It was a legitimate call, but the HR director was not impressed.  She was very unprofessional with him as well.

A man wanted to speak with a specific manager concerning references for a previous employee.  I explained that it's against company policy to give references or to issue letters of recommendation.  When I started providing instructions for submitting employment verification paperwork (strictly name / rank / serial number-type stuff), he hung up.  Really professional.  Or maybe it was a sales call in disguise; nothing new there.  Or a debt collector; we've had a lot of those recently.

This unprofessional lady (and I use that lightly) keeps calling to do a verbal reference interview. Our company does not do that and she never said who she was or a company name. Not getting what she is looking for so she is calling from different phone numbers. 866-647-5564 also 415-895-8558 and I am pretty sure the 415 number is her personal cell #.
These people are rediculous

Keeps leaving voice mails on our office line about verifying employment for someone that apparently worked here 3 years ago. I don't know whom the person is! I am not HR and I told them not to call anymore, but yet they continue to call daily. I will not answer anymore and I delete the messages.

LOL !  Somebody remembers the Guess Who.  Which could also describe these callers.

I just started giving them the rejection hotline when they ask for our hr contact person.  Lol  (605-475-6968)  two can play that game!
