I have a "Resolve Receivables Management" and there is a RevSolve, so I'm not sure if you are misunderstanding the name, if it is the first company, or if it is a different company.  Also what is "funny" about getting calls from a debt collector?

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are: https://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file complaints with the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/#crnt&panel1-1

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

This company, RevSolve and/or ReSolve has multiple complaints filed in multiple states with their attorney general. You may be right on how to go about reporting and verification of your debt (if any) but this company is known to not respond to certified mail or have late response times after notice to the three major credit reporting agencies. They try to bully you into paying to remove a debt that you may have not occurred and at worse they ask for fee's to remove your name once you have proven the debt is not yours or that the debt was resolved. These are some of the worst debt collectors and make the honest ones look bad.

Your screen name indicates that you are in the legal profession and as such you would have access to an attorney, Westlaw, LexisNexus, and various law books both Federal and State.  Which makes me wonder why you said

I wasn't aware that there are "honest" debt collectors but again, as a paralegal you should know that these are all FDCPA violations and that the company can easily be sued.  Failure to correct a credit report is an FCRA violation as well.
Your post proves that you are not a "paralegal".  I further believe that you might even work for this outfit from the tone of your post where you seem to imply that nothing at all can be done which is exactly what an employee would do to keep their boss from being sued.
