- Care replies to AnonymousThis caller is a scam. Trying to get personal information. Guy who called me is named McFaddon from Private Courier Services. They claim to have legal docs scheduled for delivery between x time & x time. They leave a claim # & say to call back to reschedule & make sure to show a government-issued Id card when the courier shows up. Don't call back but if you feel like you have to, don't give them or verify any personal information the might have on you. Do not show anybody a government id. They can scan it & get additional sensitive information & you'll end up a victim of identity theft. Ir, If you're a person with debt dating back more than 7 years, Google "zombie debt collectors". These are bottom-feeders who buy your old, uncollectable debt from other debt collectors for cents on the dollar then try to threaten you into paying them full price on a debt that's no longer collectible by law. These people make BIG money by scaring people who don't know their legal rights. Trump's administration is quietly trying to overturn legislation put in place to protect consumers from this type of activity. So far, not too much in the way of consumer protection has been overturned because of pushback from Democrats in Senate & House of Representatives. But pay attention behind the scenes of what's really going on around this issue. Very disturbing. As far as these scammers, I called my attorney who contacted the FBI about 2 weeks ago when I got my first call from these people. Also, some of these calls are coming by robocall & others pre-recorded by a woman. I saved them all & turned them over to my attorney to include with the FBI report. That's what I can do but I'm sure more people complaining will help.
