Just got the call. I do not have a barclay card, but they send me and my husband plenty of junk mail

called my cell - crazy thing is the real company did call me a couple weeks ago to check a charge within minutes of the purchase and gave me a case number for me to call back and the number matched the 800 number on the back of my card. my daughter called me just after i had the call that she received a call about a master card - she doesn't have a master card and none of her cards have her cell.

Robo call on my cellphone.  From Barkley Fraud Detection - I don't have a card with them.  When I called the number back recording said not a valid number - 866-691-1096

Same as the rest, Barkley Fraud, Robocall, stated they put a hold on my master card.  Got call at 3:21

Wow...those calls circulate fast....same automated info....tried calling back to speak to someone..do not have barclay card...tried to call back on a land line and the number wasn't in service.

Same call. I just wonder how they got my cell #.

Left a voicemail in reference to possible fraudulent activities on my card?  Came up as " unknown" on caller ID.  Called number w/out being able to talk to a person....These people must think we're STUPID!

The real Barclay Master Card group just told me this is a pfishing scam and they have received many calls in reference to the "Fraud Alert". Report this to your cell phone carrier for their investigation.

Received a voicemail stating possible fraud activity on my credit card.  The company was Barclay .  Number came up as, "Unknown"  on my cell.  When I called the recording immediately asked for my credit card number?   Wasn't able to talk with a person.  Was not about to give my credit card number over the phone PERIOD!

Are you that dumb you don't even know what cards you have ??????????? your the kind there after, better get your ducks in a row!!!

Got same call on my cell barkley fraud protection.I do not have a barkley card!I say same thing as annoyed never had your card go ahead..

"Barclay Fraud" phone call. Received a message about activity verification needed on my card. Barclay runs the Barnes & Noble mastercard that I have. I called the number on the back of the Barclay card I have, the representative said they are aware of the phone calls and are working on investigating it to stop them. Do not give any information to this automated system! It is definitely not Barclay.

I got the following message: This is the fraud detection department at Barclay card calling with an important message regarding your MasterCard world account. If you are the card holder, please stay on the line or press one otherwise. Please have the card holder call us at 1(866) 691-1096 as a temporary hold may have been placed on your account, and will be removed upon verification of activity. Again that number is 1(866) 691-1096. If you no longer wish to receive future account notifications, please press 9.  
If you call, the automated prompts ask for your account number. I called the 800 # on the back of my card and they confirmed this is a phishing scheme.

I also got a call from them.said about a mastercard don,t even have one.so when i got home from work i checked the number on line.and sure enough everybody else got the call.

Got the same call, don't have a Mastercard either.

Glad to see it was just a scam and not something serious.

Got the same message...Said my card was on temprary hold, and to call them for a possible resolution. Thieves are garbage!!!

Got the same thing except from #866-725-6387 - "Barclays fraud department, Mastercard on hold" - look out for that number too!

Received a call from the "fraud" department at "Barkley Cards" but I do not have this credit card. Call was from phone #: 1-866-782-0862

I got the same message as everyone else on this list - and just like Robert, I wasn't sure if I had a BarclayCard or not - I know if I have a Mastercard or a Visa, but sponsoring banks have changed 3x in the last year on 3 of the 4 credit cards I do have, so it's definitely possible that people may not know who the sponsoring bank is (especially if it's not Chase or Citi).  They asked about my BarclayCard World Mastercard, which I know I do not have.  I'm contacting Barclay Card to make them aware of the scam.

Oh my gosh!  The same thing just happened to me. I called the number from my landline and I got a message of the number not being in service.  The number that called me was 1-866-246-2737
