A recording tells to call regarding a car accident. Left a reference number. SCAM??

A recording telling me to call them back about a car accident in july. Don't know what they are talking about. Left a reference number as well. Is this a scam. I don't know if I should call them back.

Same, received a call from this number - 1-866-697-7849, gave some file number and asked to call back on the same number. This was an automated message.

What is this? Scam? Anybody??

Its a insurance collection company, they work for insurance co to get money for claims

Got a call from this number just a few minutes ago. Referenced a car accident on september 6, 2007. I was never in a car accident in 2007. And they were asking for someone with a different first name but my last name and a case number.

I am not sure if I should call them or not. Or if this is a scam. What do you think?

I work at a carpet cleaning company and this same number has been calling one of our technicains work cell phone. He said the automated message is hard to understand but that they are referencing our Company name and some fake policy number, #613227.  The message said to call them back at 866-697-7849 about the accident. There have been no accidents. This is NOT our insurancce company and this IS A SCAM. Do not call. I don't know what they are after but our insurace company verified that this number and policy information has nothing to do with us.

I continue receiving these calls 3 to 4 times per day and it is an automated system that is requesting for someone that is not staying at my address. I am wondering how I can get these calls to stop! It is really a problem!

it is a scam. big brother is gathering info on u. Bware, they only come after u if u are inocent.

I just hung up on a call from this number.  It was an automated call saying "Please continue to hold.  Your call is important to us.  We will be with you shortly."  This is the second time I have received such a call.

I received a voicemail from this number regarding "an attempt to collect a debt".  I work in the credit report industry and am very on top of any invoices, bills, etc that I get so was surprised to get this call.  I returned the call and was informed that USAA Insurance had placed a claim in the amount of $1300 regarding an accident dated 10/20.  I have NEVER been in an accident.  He insisted that I was involved in an accident in Gilbert, AZ (about 45 minutes from my house).  I NEVER go out to Gilbert and informed the rep.  He stated that my insurance card and Driver's License # were on file linked to the accident.  I requested that he provide my Driver's License #.  After a stutter, he started providing some random number that was nowhere close to my #.  He stopped trying to insist after that and said he'd inform the authorities.  BEWARE, THIS IS A SCAM!  DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE.  KNOW YOUR RIGHTS, ACCORDING TO FDCPA IF YOU DO HAVE A LEGITIMATE DEBT, THE COLLECTOR MUST SEND A WRITTEN NOTICE OF THE AMOUNT OF THE DEBT, THE INFORMATION (NAME OF CREDITOR, ETC), RIGHT TO DISPUTE DEBT, SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO VERIFY THE DEBT, ETC.  VISIT FTC.GOV FOR MORE INFORMATION.

I think every body are angry at this company.I had 21 calls for several days!!!
I put this phone number in a reject list, but they call me every day! I abxore this company and will go to put a case against this company in the court.It will be greate if everybody who has the same problem with this company will file cpmplain, too.

How do you get them to stop, if I call back it may be someone who hits me up for minutes off of my phone or something.  I have not been in any accident

I got a call from this number the last two days asking to take a survey for Firestone auto service.
