I keep getting calls from a person that identifies himself as Investigator Robert Steele and who calls from various numbers with 713 area codes and 283-XXXX prefixes. He references this 800 number as a means to call him back.

I got a call from a person who identifies himself as investigator Robert Steele who says to call him back regarding a time sensitive investigation.

It's "an investigator" who uses call spoofing as a means to contact people, he works for a recovery company or better know as a "repo" company. He will use your home number and/or any known number you will recognize to get you to answer the phone, which happens to be illegal in Michigan as I have contacted the State Attorney's Office and directed me to file a complain on their website www.michigan.gov/ag under their Consumer Protection tab, which I already did.
