Used by debt collectors.

Got a call today, left message caller ID had unknown number but callback message was from a Maggie Cooper and gave name of Michelle Williams as who they were trying to call (not my name) callback number left was 1-866-723-6215....message something to the effect of  calling to discuss a matter that was sent to her for consideration of legal action including filing a lawsuit. When I called number back, answering machine stated they were Bernstein Berg Markowitz. Interestingly enough, I can’t find website for them or much information about this firm online. I would expect a reputable company to have a website you could actually find. I also found some informatiom from other sites/numbers suggesting this is a scam. One guy on here under a different 800 number inquiry had same exact story even including person leaving message was Maggie Cooper. I think this is a scam call.

They are very threating, leaving messages with people who i barely know, called back and would not give any information, the person disconnected  the call

I'd say that about wraps things up. An inoperable site created less than a year ago. On godaddy. Registered to a condo./apt. in CA. Reports of abusive/fraudulent calls & little else. Can you say "SCAMMER"? I'll bet you can.

I didn't open it either. I usually do things the old fashioned way. It's safer & it works.
Scammers never like it when we can run around them. They always like to think that they're smarter than anyone else. We both know how well that works out for them.

Got same call as everyone about 5 mins ago except name was Jason White, with the same message as everyone out of area unknown number, calling for someone i don't  know..TY guys for your inputs...at lease i know it's not only me..

These scammers called from a "NO CALLER ID" number today. They left a voice message stating there has been legal action filed against me and I need to call back with a case number. I could clearly tell they were calling from a call center because of the background noise. And IF I was in legal trouble, they would not call and be so vague. This is clearly a scam to get your personal details. DO NOT ANSWER. DO NOT GIVE ANY OF YOU PERSONAL INFO TO THEM.

Same call buy from another number - 866-732-2135. "Maggie Cooper" said:

"Yes, hello, this is a urgent message for [same last name, different first name, different gender even]. My name is Maggie Cooper. I am contacting her discuss a matter that has been forwarded on to my office for consideration of legal action including the filing of a complaint with the court to discuss these possible pending actions that may be filed against you you will need to contact the firm immediately at 866-732-2135 and please reference file number 160-9291. This is a time sensitive matter for her if you do not receive a response. We may proceed without your participation. Thank you."

Jerks and scammers.

Scam looking for my mother (I have not lived with her for 23 years she is over 80 years old) said there were legal charges brought against her. This is ashamed they want to take advantage of the elderly/sick.
