- Jen| 3 repliesThis was a recorded message. Man stated that our voice mail was going to change on Wednesday which would be April 6, 2016. Said we needed to call this number and enter our 10 digit telephone number and that would be our pin number as well. He never said what company he was with. Called the number and gave fake phone number and the recorded ladies voice of course said it was an invalid number. On that recording she never stated what the company name was either.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Amber S.| 2 repliessame thing as message above. another scam . I havent even figured out why they would do this. does not give name or company name just says our voicemail will expire on wednesday
- BigA replies to Jen| 2 replies"Called the number and gave fake phone number " By calling that toll free number you provided them with your real number. Since they are paying for the call, they are entitled to the information which is sent to them differently than the normal CNAM caller ID you see.
- Jen replies to BigAI used a throw away cell.
- SUSIE replies to BigASo why are they doing this and why do they want your phone number. I have just reported them to the telephone company
- SUSIE replies to Amber S.| 1 replyDOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THEY MAY BE DOING THIS?
- BigA replies to SUSIEMoney or information to use. Obviously a criminal enterprise and that would usually be their motive.
- robingeorgia| 3 repliesThis is a legit call. It's from ATT voicemail services. They changed my voicemail as stated. On the date they gave, the voicemail suddenly went to default and my original pin no longer worked. Had to call in the 800 number and use the 10 digit pin (your actual phone number).
This sucks. ATT should of identified themselves in the message and left a callback number to verify.- Caller: ATT
- sman replies to robingeorgia| 1 replyI got the same call and I called AT&T and they know nothing of it. I can't imagine a company not identifying themselves if this were legit.
- d replies to smanI called 611 to validate the legitimacy of this. It is legitimate. AT&T is apparently changing something on its network and claims that they put a notice of this in our monthly bill (nobody, including myself, actually reads that stuff). As a result, I did call the 866-740-0841 number and changed my voicemail greeting and pin.
- LTTook an hour to get thru to AT&T and question validity of this. Customer service knew nothing and sent me on wild goose chase with a series of "I'll have to put you on hold's". If voicemail does implode, it will be easier to switch providers that to get AT&T to help remedy any problem.....
- Art replies to robingeorgiaAre you sure? If it was from AT&T why didn't they say so?
