the message asks for a Taddy Manfur (not I) but I can't delete it until I hear the whole thing.

I get a call from this number around 8am-9am central almost daily. I have a pretty effective way of tripping up these type of scam artists that call me. I fill out a lot of online surveys, rebate offers, etc and I'm guessing thats why they call me. The question I ask when they call always stops them dead in their tracks: "Caller:Is Charles xxx there?" "Me:Senior or Junior?" "Caller:ummmm, I'm not sure, I'll have to get more info and get back to you." "Me:Ok , TTY Tmrow"

Diversified services are asking for me to settle a online loan (that I Have never taken out before) for $575.00. They have no paper trail of the loan or where it came from.
They are threating to put a warrant out for my arrest.

Had a call from Diversified Services (866) 740-3605 today and when I answered, it was a recording saying they wish to speak with me. They left a different number to call them back on but unfortunately the call was ended before I could write it down. I usually don't answer calls like this but I did and that is probably a cue for them to keep calling. If they do, I will definitely report them to the attorney general's office in my state.

Threats of arrest over a civil debt are a clear violation of the federal rules for debt collection.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them .
