This dam number continues and confuckingtinues to call me and its teeing me the f off. I have a dam prepaid verizon phone and these sumbitches call me all day long. What the f to do?

I also have a verizon phone.  I just bought it for my son a few days ago and this 866-740-4136 number continues to call the phone and never leaves a message.

Seem to get a call near the hour, every 3 hours.

so 9am, 12pm, 3pm

Looks like some kind of automated service.

How the hell do I stop this happening?

Same problem...just got this prepaid phone yesterday. Already, I have 6 missed calls from this number, and they've left no messages. I have the InPulse plan, which you only have to pay for on the days you use. I wonder if this is some call to force you into paying the fee every day, even if you aren't making or receiving calls from anyone you actually talk to, but only receiving calls from this number.  It's becoming ridiculous. If anyone on here has any answers, let me know.

Same problem.  Got the InPulse plan yesterday and today every 3 hours this number shows up and no messages are left.  If we're getting charged I'm complaining to Verizon and cancelling the phone.  Also just registered my number with the do not call list so we'll see if it makes a difference.

This is a Verizon automated information line.  They're really starting to make me angry.  I am going to find a way to block these calls.  If I find out, I'll let yaw know.  This better not be costing me .99!!!!!!!

I just called Verizon and asked if there was any way that I could block these calls.  There was no way to totally block them, but the customer service rep. did something to my account that would lessen the calls...(possibly stopping them).  If anyone is getting tired of receiving these calls, call Verizon and give them a piece of your mind.  They will get the message, and might be able to help you.  I hope this info helps yaw...Oh, the service rep. said that it wasn't costing me to receive the calls.  Good luck, yaw.  I'm seriously going to throw this temporary phone in the lake when I get my regular phone back.  I'm tired of getting hounded!!

I went back to my account online and unchecked the box saying they could NOT call me about promos or special deals. I also gave them their own phone # back when they asked for a number to call me about promos/deals just in case the unchecked box didn't work.

It is a Welcome Call for Verizon Wireless and the 866-740-4136 number does NOT trigger your daily fee OR any charges even if you don't answer and then call it back later..still an entirely FREE call. The reason they don't leave a message is because if you went to pick up their message that WOULD cause you to trigger your daily fee. on. Hope this makes sense.

I just got a verizon and I also received the same calls. I called the number fvrom a land-line and it is a Verizon number. So, I went to my profile at the Verizon web site and updated my message level from high to low and this will significantly reduce the calls. If want them to almost stop, do this, else just put up with them

I just got a new verizon phone on June 19, 2009 and I'm getting voice calls from this number: 866-740-4136.  ANNOYING!  Make it stop!

I just got my pre paid phone and called it back from my landline phone. It is from Verizon. The recording said, We do not recognize this number, please put in your 10 digit phone number. I am assuming it is the verizon pre paid phone number they are asking for. I didn't but that is who it is.Hope it helps.

its verizons way of getting you to use your phone everyday, so you have to pay the access fee (only pay on the days you use it) hope this helps

Just got a prepaid phone. Getting same calls as everyone. Hoping that if I answer it on a day I have paid my $.99, it'll stop.

it is verizon calling once you call them back and type in your # it takes you to a recording that tells you how to refill your phone, how your phone is charged and so forth

ok if you dont want to receve calls from people you dont know .. do this .. i got this from verizon

enter your lock code
ristrictions
your lock code again
calls
.......
this way you can block numbers that are not in your contact list ,  you can do the same for out going calls too
